hey dude just want to let you know i found your stuff when i was in grade 9 (6 years ago!) still listen to it today and good to see your still doing what you do, i recently dropped out of trade school to pursue my dreams and passion in music, jus wanted to say youve always been a source of inspiration to my guitar playing so it was crazy when you starting posting covers of some of my favourite bands protest, sikth, fellsilent too anyways dude cheers from canada your awesome
I think this may be my first time seeing this, surprisingly. I dunno, but it seemed like your final few seconds of the video were reflecting on Bukena, which I found touching, whether it's true or not. Really great and fitting song.
@cyurkiw Thank you - very kind of you! Don't have much time to play at the moment but am hoping to get a few more acoustic originals up here as and when I get a chance. Glad you enjoy the tunes!
Just beautiful ! You are such an accomplished guitarist, so glad I found you on youtube, just about to purchase a Turner 42CE and you have just confirmed it is a wonderful guitar.... hope one day I can play it like you.... great job Fred !
@Cofton25 Thanks very much! It really is a fantastic guitar for the money - extremely pleased I stumbled across them. Only problem is that I'm now lusting after an 80-00 or an 82CE, haha. Hope you enjoy the guitar, and be sure to send me a link if you do any recordings or videos with it. Cheers!
Oooh... I just discovered what the title is about.... I think that was very moving of you. That made the song even more beautiful, if possible. I didn't know Bukena, but I'll think of him when listening to the song.
I just heard about Bukena when talking to Erica (it's 'Darkrose' by the way... What an embarrassing nickname to have chosen for myself... But well, I was only fifteen or so at the time...).
Anyway, this is a really beautiful tribute, and a great bit of music in its own right :-). I still look forward to you posting new videos and you're one of the few guitarists whose technique I actually admire - you make me wish I'd kept up with practising/playing.
A beautiful composition. A superb interpretation. All this is reminiscent of John Renbourn or Bert Jansh while remaining deeply original. It is a great joy to see this video. Thank you ...
I'm 23, I've been watching these videos since they appeared. In all honesty I hope you'll make it. Even though I have my own home studio, (band *somewhat*) I still feel that even though my dream is to become an excellent musician (I'm kind of forced to study something that'll eventually make me make money) you make me see the reality that I should've either started years ago or I should've sold my guitar gear ten years ago. It bitter sweet to look you play.
@B1oodraven Thank you, those are exceedingly kind words, and believe me that there are hundreds of people out there who make me feel exactly the same!
@nymphetamine178 No no, I'm very much still here! This is a tribute to a much-loved member of a community I've been part of for many years, who sadly died late last year.
