hey bro trying to learn about the p225... so is it like a p220 carry chambered in 9mm basically? is it of similar dimensions to the p220 carry or the 229? Its just so hard to find thorough info about this particular gun ( thanks in advance mate
@lobzdik p220 carry is american version of p225.....p225 is a regular german police force handgun, they have p6(sig sauer p225) and p7 (hk p7).....great handgun
I just put a down payment on a brand new sig sauer p229 two tone... brand new its around 900 dollars... can't wait till I have the funds to pay for the rest and pick it up :) my other gun I have right now is a sig sauer p220 45 cal .. so it will be interesting to see the difference, because I am a big guy the recoil doesn't affect me at all with the 45, I've shot the p229 before and it felt like shooting an air pistol.. but didn't really get a chance to compare the two...
7 rounds plus 1.. I traded in my p220 I now have kimber cdp II 1911 it holds 8 plus 1 with my wilson combat mag. Nothing wrong with the p220 just not very concealable.
Why SIG over Beretta? From what I've read and heard, the SIG is more reliable than the Beretta, has a decocker vs. manual safety, is more compact, just as accurate, feeds any ammo without FTFs, etc.
Apparently, some law enforcement officers who carried the Beretta 92FS preferred the P226, and some even switched over to the SIG.
I personally prefer the feel of SIGs and knew I wanted one before I owned one, and I am fully satisfied with my purchase.
Great video man! I went with the P6 because my local gun store gave me a lifetime with it. I wanted the 229, but couldn't pass up the P6 for 300. Cool factor goes up with the West Germany stamp on the side. A great way to get a Sig Sauer for relatively cheap. Ohhh 229, your just going to have to wait...sigh....
Actually, a P225/P6 is a compact P220, which is a fullsize gun. The P226 is the successor of the P220, and likewise, the P228 is a compact P226. The difference is that the P228 in 9x19 holds 13 rounds, and the P225 holds 8. The P225 and P226 are different sized guns.
P225 is a 9m and the P229R is a 40S&W. For a starter i'd stick with a 9mm their very easy to handle and have little recoil. 40S&W is a step further from a 9mm but has more recoil. I suppose your best bet is trying each caliber for yourself. Some people can't handle 40S&W.
Just purchased a two tone P229 yesterday for a ridiculous price... Receiving it today. I can't wait!

@lobzdik the p225 is more commonly know as the P6. Which is relatively a non-commercial european version of p220

@barjay8519 practically is. the only thing that has wear to it the most would be the barrel.
