Holy shit!!! Just a few minutes into this episode and people start dying!!!! These Decepticon Pretenders don't fuck around. It doesn't help the fact that a newly-wed couple were having there honeymoon here.
Maximals/Predacons are transformers who change INTO organic lifeforms (or at least a convincing facsimilie). Pretenders are regular vehicle-type transformers who have an additional disguise in the form of an outer shell that resembles organic life. For the toys this was an actual shell that came with the robot. In the old comics it was like a suit they wore. In this show, it's more like a hologram.

Um, it's important to remember that the original Transformers G1 series was animated by Toei Animation, a Japanese company also responsible for animating Fist of the North Star, Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, and Cutey Honey.

I think the japanese version of the transformer is better in what story line is concerned and of course the introduction of new way cooler characters as star sivel, San ras and the rest.
The show was originally written as a marvel comic by the same writers that wrote, and hasbro owned the rights to this as well, G.I. Joe real american hero
This is my first time ever watching Masterforce and not just that the first time i've watched an anime in the original japanese version.
Normally I would perfer an English Dub but since I'm not much of a fan of the legit dub.

does this series explain what happend to the normal autobots and decepticons or is this classed as diffrent universe for G1 and G2??

The rest of the Autobots are shown fighting the Decepticons in space. The Pretenders hold the line on Earth

well... the maximal/predacons are "animal-like" but, they dont have organic outer shells like the Pretenders,they just have metal, and metal..
pretenders are just like terminator, with skin and everything or "cyborgs"
