  • The pyramidal workout - forgive me but the last time I did them was over 3 years ago - burns fat and increases strength right? Would you say doing a pyramid workout for every exercise for how many month/s is a good idea after 6~months of progression?

  • So W-5 pyramid starts from 5 goes to 1, does this mean the W-7 pyramid starts from seven and goes to 3, or does it go to 1 again? (also how long are the breaks between sets a sec, 5 sec? Thank you for you time! ^^

  • @Izaharry Same thing, 7-6-5-4-3-2-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-6-5-­4-3-2-1-2-3-4-5-6-7

    Between each "rep" (ie 7-6) the idea is to have as little rest as needed, after the entire pyramid is complete.

    Rest 4-5 minutes and try it again, if you dare!

  • That seems like a pretty cool way to get into pushups...Im actually a beginner I usually do 25 in the morning but yea..I want to try that. I'll start from W-3 in the 1st week then work my way up to W-7 then a possible W-10!

  • just made w5. and wow, its really really hard. i didnt expect that. and try to make the push-ups more slowly... its 3x harder if you do it slow. just try it ;)

  • @silverblueisrael i just ate healthier. 4 meals a day at around 300 calories. drank strictly water, and I played around with p90x. and insanity,but you definately dont need them because I havent had either since they got stolen about 3 months ago and Im still gettin small results when I stay on track.

  • These are tough, because I recently started, but you can do a lot of push-ups in a short period of time. I don't have the cash to go to a gym, so I've been relying on squats, pull-ups, chin-ups and push-up pyramids. After a few weeks, I've noticed significant improvement in my performance.

  • How many rounds do you do for a chest workout? or do you combine this with the upper body workout and the tricep workout,or is the pyramid workouts fine by themselves?

  • @FreeshGuy 2-3 sets of a pyramid and you should have a good workout.

  • Hey, Dude! I'm 42 years old & have never worked out in the last 25 years. I want to start with SOMETHING to try & get in shape! I'm not FAT fat, but wiegh 140 lbs & have a 32" waist, & am 5'9" tall, but have a "chubby gut", "muffin top" & "man boobies" that I'd like to get rid of once & for ALL! Will this series of exercises do it for me? PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP! Thanks, Man!

  • @darc928 Then you choose a higher W, an amount of reps that you could not do in a single set.

    It's a way of shocking your body into doing more reps.

    you could also do different types of push ups. ie diamond, wide, elevated, ect.

  • @darc928 if you rest a few seconds between eace set of reps, your body thinks it is done and starts cooling down

  • W-10 is 208 reps! sounds like a challenge :)

    The W can be increased or decreased in reps, but follows the same 'shape'

    can i use this type of pyramid for my pull ups and my squats

    (i like doing only body weight workouts, it helps me alot with the sports i play)

  • You shouldnt bring your knees up and rest during your W's, just stay in ready position for 5! it makes alot harder cos muscles are always tense!

  • @Zephyrwolf I simply edited the two clips at the end of the video using sony vegas, then I made an annotation once the video was up, and put the link to the video in the annotation.

  • i do these, but incorporate squats into the pyramid as well. so 1 pushup/10squats, 2 pushups/8 squats.....in the end at the middle of the set you are doing 8 pushups/2 squats, 10 pushups/1 squat................this is usually the warm up before we train.
