Sharks- Bahamas '06

I dove this site two weeks ago. With no one baiting the sharks. They came anyway. Apparently they are accustpmed to swarming whenever a dive boat appears overhead. It was unnerving at first but after a while we just ignored them. Probably not the wisest thing in the world to do. They just checked us out but didn't appear to be aggressive. I'm sure they were just one drop of blood away from a frenzy, though!

What is actually attracting these sharks to swarm on them?

Bah, it would be an alligator. They have hard skin, and I mean really hard. It would be pretty hard for a shark to grab and hold onto it. And I think there was something on Animal Planet that used to make robots to see who would win. I think the alligator (Crocodile) won. Not sure.

a shark would definitely win..alligators wouldn't stand a chance. Sharks have rows and rows of teeth where alligators only have one.

You can adoptashark online at this website called adoptashark, I adopted a hammerhead with a satellite tag, very cool, they tell you where it went and how deep etc.

Ok... diving is cool. But snorkling with sharks is just plain stupid.  Too easy for them to mistake you for a seal. Especially with chumming as I'm sure they were doing to get that many sharks around.

you wont have to look at them for much longer. They are being killed faster than they can reproduce. And we'll be left with dirty (dirtier) oceans. I think they are pure natural engineering!
