Under water test sog seal pup elite and fallkniven f1

I have a seal pup elite with a hard sheath ... I use it for diving it rusts every now and then and It easily comes off

@dashengquan In this video I am testing two knives that the makers say they both handle well under water both did well but if this was salt water it would be differnt.

The Fallkniven is the better knife, the SOG is awesome as well. Both knives are great, neither would rust in that amount of time in what I would assume is salt free water. It just depends on what you are willing to spend and if you like TiNi or shiny steel, both come in either.

what is the sog like around salt water

@zebkaye I have not tested these knives in salt water so I could not say but I thinks they might rust a bit.

not a very tough test. no knife steel would rust in 2 min in fresh creek water, even 1095 HC steel.

but 5stars, for the throwaway line from your nephew... "The F1... dont hit a rock, VG10... chips..." Definitely agree, the aus 8 just dents or bends, but vg10 will chip on any stone or hard material. imo go with the pup or better yet a ESEE 4.

@angryjapanesenigga I left alot of the water on the knives after this video. I took my f1 out in the snow and did some batoning and when it got wet I just left the water on it and still no rust.

@angryjapanesenigga ESEE 4 would be a lot more rust prone than the above tested knives. It uses 1095.

@gremlock Yea but the black coating prevents rust. The knife only rusts on the lazer etching and the edge.

You guys mean Zytel or Thermorun? I thought the F1 sheath was made of zytel, not the handle.
