Now if someone could breed a dog that CANNOT smell, great. Such a dog would be valuable in protecting its master's yard from any wild skunks that may come along.

For all you idiots crying foul, you have no idea what you're talking about. 1st, read the comments about the dog's territory. 2nd, if you live in area with lots of skunks and you don't want your dog getting sprayed all the time, go find a skunk and let the dog piss him off, he'll learn. When your dog shits in the house, do you A) take your dog to another room to scold him, or B) do you rub his nose in it? It's "B" btw, and hey the vid could have been worse, could've been a porcupine

Why are people sitting here asking why they didn't help the dog? Clearly, the dog did not need help. He was upset at the skunk for being in his territory, and as you can see, the dog got rid of the skunk.

I'm so surprised that skunk didn't spray your dog when it started nipping at it. I know that skunks don't like to use their weapon unless its desperately needed it, but I would think that your dog crossed the line. That is a very patient skunk.

Yes, you are right. What I meant to say was that I was surprised that it took so long for that skunk to spray the dog, but then again, I've since heard that skunks don't like to use up their ultimate weapon which they employ only as a last resort after they have exhausted all other forms of defense.
