from what i see, its mainly entertainment. quite funny, actually. but theres no real fright. thats what i think lacks in amusement park haunted houses. theres no energy. i guess im more into the in your face intense type of haunt. but all the special effects and props are cool, just not scary. haha, if you know what i mean.
Yes, I know what you mean. I think an insane asylum is a theme that offers great potential for scariness, but it really isn't fulfilled in Knott's maze, IMHO. I dunno, maybe they shy away from realistic scary scenes from an asylum because they don't want to offend people with mental health issues in their families or something.
There are other mazes that do a better job with the scare factor, though. Also, I'm hoping the new version of this maze, Lockdown: The Asylum, will go a lot farther towards fulfilling its potential.
it just frustrates me, like i go to kings island's halloween haunt. i know its not the best amusement park haunt but it easily could be. it seems like they have everything except good actors. i do think they tone it down in case of kids, or easily offended people, but i say do what you gotta do to make it scary. because thats what everyone wants. but anyways, ill be sure to check that one out when you get it up.
I have heard stories of some Mom & Pop haunts being a lot more intense and in-your-face. Perhaps the larger parks have to be a bit more circumspect since they're a much more serious target for lawsuits.
Not a huge amount, but I captured different enough stuff on the two visits that neither video was clearly superior to the other. Normally I edit the two videos together into one seamless best-of walkthrough when that occurs, but I didn't really feel like spending the large amount of time required for that for this, one of my least favorite mazes.
Also, thanks to a monster being a jackass in 2008, I have no video of The Asylum from that year, so having two 2007 videos will help make up for it.
It can also just be interesting to see how a maze experience can differ from night to night depending on which monsters are working, what they're doing when you happen to walk through, how tired they are at that point in the night, etc.
and i truely enjoy the weird nervous giggling from the cameraman

You are so brave!
Any tips ? I think I'm just gonna laugh & smile my whole night so they won't see my fear haha.
I'm going for the first time on the 14th.

That sounds like a good strategy. Monsters just want you to react in some way; laughing is as good as cringing, for most monsters.

lol i learned that the hard way...i said "wazzup"to one of the monsters at the entrance and they ended up scaring me anyway lol

What lead into Asylum that year? Because in 2008 it was just Asylum that lead into Club Blood. What maze was it?
