I felt it was a future for the original. The new Lion-O is the great grandson of the original Lion-O. They all have red hair. The new Snarf doesn't talk. He must be a baby snarf.
@LinkHimora actually there are several subtle hints that it could be a sequel in a way to the original thundercats, it takes place on third earth, the kingdom is named thundera after their original homeworld, claudis mentions that their ancestors formed the kingdom after beating mumm-ra like a thousand years ago, also mentioned the book of omens holds answers and in the originals last episode lion-o defeated mumm-ra while in the book of omens
so the series 'could' in theory be 1000 years later
love the New thunder cats it was awesome oh i think you mean you cant wait to see episode 3 the hr long episode was one and two put together the first episode was called The Sword of Omens and the second one is called Ancient Spirits of Evil.over all the show looks good i hope cartoon network dose not fuck this up some how.
I GEEKED OUT with the first episode. I agree with you, I have to see the second episode NOW!!! Lion-O was done really well. When I saw Mumm-Ra, I yelled AWESOME!! He looks pretty much the same as he did in the 80's cartoon. I too noticed differences, but they were easily overlooked by how well done this was. Cheetara = PURE WIN!! Thunder...Thunder...THUNDER...THUNDERCATS......HOOOOO!!!!!!
I highly suggest that people who loved the 80's version should watch this. Great show!
dude the new thundercats has answered everyone expections can't wait till the next episode and i loved the new version of mumm ra and the thundercats also what happened to the lion-oh dad gave me a lion king feeling
I've noticed that there is a wierd trend going on in these animated reboots. That trend is getting the original actor of a character voicing the father of the current character. For example the original voice of Duke voices Duke's father in G.I.Joe Renegades, Adam West voiced Thomas Wayne in Batman: the Brave and the Bold, and the original voice of Shaggy voicing Shaggy's dad in Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc. Personally I think it's awesome and I hope to see this trend continue.
I think it got cancelled.

I didn't know about Doberlord. He seems like a villain that they should use.

Nice review! I always thought that a Thundercats and Inuyasha crossover would be cool. Or even Stormhawks and Star Fox.

The setting in 3rd Earth kinda reminds me of the Thor comics where is more sorcery than in the movie.
