Well DK you're right bout one thing that we can save Blank, but it's a Super Soft Potion that's a Key Item, later in the game you'll get it. I won't spoil it from here on, but here are some guides for the abilities from items for your equipment that'll come in handy for later use: gamefaqs(.)com and search under FF9 Item/Ability FAQ by Phil Gregory and Item/Ability FAQ by Drew "Kasket" Guirey. You MUST read it slowly for each abilities effect on certain items to get the max out of it.

The ability system in 9 is quite different than the other FF, but it's similar to 7 for the Materia spells and other Materia classes. Like if you have the Ice Materia you'll have to master it to get another Ice Materia also to learn Ice 3 and extra till the ability is mastered and move on to another set of armor or weapons. There is also a Synthesis setup like the remolding for FF8 where you take the materials and make a new weapon/armor/accessory that involves two same or different items.

As long as the ability is equipped it will always work, but eventually you will wind up with more abilities than magic stones, thus be unable to have all of your abilities equipped at the same time.

The thing about some people not able to trance means that there's some characters who are not permanent and will not have a trance gauge. Blank, Cinna, and Markus had no trance gauge, so they will not be usable during end game. I'm not sure if that was intended, but that is something random to note.

Just a little tip I found when I was playing the game. I think that if you run away during a battle your atb gauge actually increases a little bit faster, which might come in handy during future boss battles (not too sure about it though) :)

Solo Ozma? Wow DK. You're quite brave. I would suggest getting as many status immunities as possible for that. Also summons are called Eidolons in this game.

Btw, there are only like 4 bosses who's rare steals are FUC*ING hard and time consuming to get... 3 of them have time limit which makes stealing annyoing and make you want to pass them... You'll meet first at end of disk 1

@Darkkefka Arceusvids already said it , but while/after you are/have learning/ed and ability (bird killer for example) you have to go to the game menu screen, abilities, and then equip to activate the ability. You won't be able to make it far fast without doing that. I want you not to get all rage-y and blow out my speakers (again, yes you did before) when fights get really hard because you don't have any skills equipped. I hope this helps, keep kicking ass

@Darkkefka Those hidden items tend to be a lot more common in towns and places without battles than they are in places with random battles.

The mythril dagger doesn't increase steal rate, the ability it gives does, you need to equip it on zidane naturally, later on in the game there's an item that increases the chance of stealing the better items on the enemy. Oh here's a pro tip for you, tents can be used in battle, not even kidding, I highly recommend using it on enemies, it heals your hp, but it has nasty side effects, you'll see it when you use it :)

Funny thing you can do with the Moogle Flute: If you keep calling him and canceling, you can get some funny reactions after a while. Doesn't really do anything, but it might get you to crack a smile.

stiener and vivi are a great team you will be using magic sword a lot later in the game. plus for mini games play the chocobo hot and cold game later on it is a must!

By watching your walkthrough, i missed this game so much that i bought it off of the PSN and play it along with you xD. My original copy had a scratch on disc 3 and always froze at the same point so i never finished the game =( so thanks and keep the awesome videos coming :D

Tip:Always try to have vivi in ur party no matter what he'll give u so much help in boss fights

A bit of Spoiler: Later you meet a Blue Mage and i can only recommend using him because of the magic he can learn. It really helps against the last and hidden bosses (not to mention he's extraordinary funny)

Once you master an abillity, you don't have to wear the item that incorperates that abillity anymore. But that doesn't mean that you'll permanently be immune to a status ailment unless you actually TOGGLE the abillity. You'll find yourself toggling lots of abillities on and off depending on a certain part or boss battle or w/e

You have to equip the abilities to get their effect, so if you dont equip level up he wont level up faster than your other party members.

The weapon itself doesn't increase the steal rate, but it comes with an ability called 'Bandit' which increases it.
