someone did, but i don't think they had the data plan. because they were getting charged for a lot of other things. but i have the data plan. Thank You!!
@Zaebolista It's pretty self-explanatory...I didn't want to share phone numbers or email addresses of real people I know with YouTube viewers, so I hid the information.
@nathan949494 You can connect via either one, whenever you want - presuming, of course, that you're within range of a WiFi network. It's no different than any other phone out there.
@ThoughtsMedia So if say for instance, my mom took the web off, so I can't get on internet or send picture messages, but I still have wi-fi... can I still get on the internet through wi-fi or still I need to purchase the data plan.
@VegasBoy65 I was framing the context of my comment that I don't think the camera is very good - I don't think ANY phone camera is very good - because I'm spoiled by my DSLRs. To some people who only use point and shoot cameras, they might think the camera on this is good.
Hi.I just got this phone today from a friend. Does AT&T MAKE you get the unlimited internet and such. we have the unlimited text and thats all. Thanks.
currently i am on the at&t's gophone network & would like to know if i can swap my sim card into this phone & it still work if i have unlimited talk, text & web?
@ThoughtsMedia i thought about that & was in the store yesterday to pay my bill & did ask & i got neither a yes or no answer. they were very vague & referred me to the customer service line which i knew they would considering the unlimited everything package is more than $80 w/a contract & they would essentially be losing money. the question was more so for a at&t user that possibly has done it before. thanks anyways.
@unyversalone Ah, I see. Well, I'm in Canada and so am not an AT&T customer; I used a phone that was SIM-unlocked. So I think you need to find a forum with AT&T customers that you can ask...
@omgthatissocool I honestly don't recall...I reviewed this nine months ago, so the memory is a bit hazy. :-) I'm sure other reviews you can find online will tell you if it had voice command.
Hi Jason . I have some questions for you. What if i want to use internet via wi fi? can i just connect in every place with wi fi? And what about the apps... if I install Facebook mobile (for example), can i use it with both via 3g and wi fi or just with one? And which phone would you say is better the jack or the htc snap? Thanks
@Carlos10G Yes, you can use WiFi to load data on any app you want - I've never seen a recent app that cares how it gets its data. I think the HTC Snap is probably a better overall phone, but this one is pretty nice as well.
Hi, Jason I have a question. So once you are connected to wi-fi, how do you enter the webpage? Is it okay to open via internet explorer? I am not on a data plan.
I got the newest Samsung jack. My neighbor gave it to me. It works fine and its great. I have Wi Fi. If i use Wi fi is it free? My plan is just unlimited texting and some mins. If i connect my wi fi to my router can i have free internet?
That question has been asked right below this one - why not spend a few seconds scanning the Q&A and see if yours has been answered before commenting? :-)
No and nope. This is not the phone you want for video sites. In fact, there's really no phone out there today that's delivering great Flash video experiences that I can think of...
It doesn't "require" a data plan - you can use it without one - but AT&T might only sell you one with a data plan. It's always up to AT&T. You can try to find one used though...
i have the jack and the accelerated scroll feature is actually pretty cool. if u barely press down the screen scrolls slow. if u push down harder, it flys through the page
im thinking of purchasing a jack, just a quick gps question
1.) can you use the gps without a data plan? i've found a modaco gps hack but im not sure if it enables stand-alone gps or if it is compatible with the jack.
cheers -- keep up the fabulous work, we're very appreciative.
No, I had to send it back to AT&T. You can use the GPS without a data plan, but of course you can't get downloaded maps and whatnot real-time. You'd have to use it with a traditional GSP program where maps are pre-loaded.
i really like this phone but i read a lot of reviews on this phone and a lot of ppl brought up that it freezes alot. i had the samsung blackjack II for almost a year and it started to freeze until it didnt work anymore. it was very frustrating and i dont think i can handle another phone that freezes. could you help me out? or anyone else that has this phone? thank you :)
I used this phone full time for a month and didn't experience a single free - so there's nothing wrong with the phone. If you load it up with lots of software, sometimes that software might screw things up...
okay, i was wondering with this phone do you have to get a data plan, or like a blackberry plan with it when you buy this phone? because i really like this phone, i just don't want to use the internet or anything on it. Thanks:)
yeah, to use the turbo scroll feature you have to press down or up harder than usual. i used to have a bj2 before i got my jack and frankly i prefer the turbo scroll to the scroll wheel but that's just me
Hey I'm thinking about getting this phone but I wasn't sure if I would be able to have certain ring tones for certain contacts and what format would they have to be? Thanks
can you tell me some cool applications for this devise, I have it factory settings and need to put something new on it and I know is capable of handle special apps... is very good phone but with touchscrrens it doesnt get attention :(
But when you hold it down all the way, it doesn't go any faster than any other Windows Mobile phone, so that's a pretty stupid feature. The scroll wheel on the Blackjack II allowed you to navigate much faster - so the Jack is worse in that regard.
Glad you liked that - I didn't realize when I was filming that as I toggled between email accounts I exposed someone's email address...so up went the privacy shield. ;-)
I'm in Canada, so I'm with Rogers (a GSM network provider). As for what phone I have, well, that depends on what week you ask me. :-) I sent this Jack back to to AT&T, so I'm back to using my "official" Rogers phone, a Samsung Jack which is really a Blackjack II (watch my AT&T Jack unboxing video to understand that statement).

Do youtube videos work good with the wifi and at&ts 3g?
popfan1991 2 years ago
I have a BJII. There are a couple of reasons I may upgrade to this phone.
1. Wifi.
2. Upgrade to 6.5 will be available.
3. The scroll wheel on my BJII is great, but at nearly 2 yrs now, it's starting to give me problems and not work as good.
4. Upgraded internal hw.
Since I like my BJII so much, it seems like it would honestly make more practical sense to upgrade to this phone.
