  • I so need this album <3

  • @People who say geography doesn't matter - it does. Environment is one of the key points of development for any individual human being, so why wouldn't it influence what kinds of music they are drawn to create? Obviously it's not a blanket theory, but it can't be considered as not a factor. Beautiful song, though.

  • This is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. I love music I can relate to.

  • chilling ......period

  • Its crazy how his songs and lyrics and his INCREDIBLE voice can give you such chills. <3

  • 2:23 .. there is something in the background which sounds like a skype sound..

  • Dallas..

Your music has so much meaning to me.

  • this song WILL be played at my funeral... Nuff said

  • I love how there is only three tags "little hell"" city and colour" "dallas green" so only all the right people are here for all the right reasons

  • I can assure you the city of Dallas is not nearly this amazing.

  • i just sat in my room with no lights on nothing just sat there closed my eyes and listening to the lyrics, and was just at peace with myself. love love love city and colour<3

  • i used to listen to alot of alexis, then i heard that dallas had another band and it was nothing like alexis, so i tried it out, now i wouldntlisten to anything else

  • @AndrewGammie Well that sucks because there is a lot of amazing music out there.

  • my left ear likes this song

  • to the people who like metal and this music, its because people who listen to metal like it because we feel the emotion in the music the cast power metal makes us feel, this is sorta the same except it taps into your softer side. its connected because we like music for the emotion and the feeling it gives us. thats why i love music like this it expresses how he feels.

  • Kinda strange, i listen to a lot of metal, Lamb Of God especially, but it seems i'm not alone in enjoying City and Colour thoroughly as well hahaha

    '

  • Can't wait to see him June 7th in atlanta

  • Although I'm disappointed that Dallas broke off Alexisonfire this was definitely the best move for him, I mean the guy has such an amazing voice, he sounds the same live as he does on his albums which is awesome

  • such a good show live.... a lot of couples though

  • C0ffeemakesmesmile: wtf this definitely isn't metal

  • Dallas Green touches everyones hearts, people that like mainstream, indie, acoustic, metal, rock, sreamo, classical, ska, blues, punk, grunge, pop, pretty much any walk of life. Dallas Green just has that ablilty to pull everyone into his music.

  • I'm not a metalhead (not that I hate it), but I'm in love with City And Colour. x)

  • HA! zing

  • just got home from his concert..he sounds even better live. amazing show

  • This song gives me such peace..thank you dallas

  • my brother, sister and sister-in-law surprised me by taking me to see him in vancouver last thursday for my birthday. honestly, the best night of my life! thanks for being so incredible dallas :)

  • one of my favs....

  • Sometimes I wish I lived in Canada for the music alone. Most American music doesn't even come close to this.

  • @omgitsrebeccab Sometimes I wish I could generalize like omgitsrebeccab. Most of my everything or nothing sentences just look like fallacious assertions.

  • @imshippyupup Ummmm okay which mainstream American artist could compare to Dallas Green? I'm sure there are plenty of underground American artists that are good but it's no secret that the British and Canadian music scenes are much more impressive than the American one. See, in other countries, the sound and content of one's music matters more than the pyrotechnics included in their stage shows.

  • @omgitsrebeccab

Stop being an elitist asshole. You make Canada look bad.

Music is music. Just like math is math, and architecture is architecture.

Geography has no bearing in it, so get fucked.

  • @Allenkeylighting Okay, no need to get personal. Sorry that I don't consider synthesized noise and autotune music but if you do then more power to you. This is what I consider music, it's not my problem that you disagree.

  • @omgitsrebeccab What do you mean? Compare in vocals, song writing skill, playing, lyric writing, or all four? If all four, the only mainstream artist I could compare him to, and not because they're similar but for the appreciable way they rank in all four of those categories, is Jeff Buckley.

  • @imshippyupup I agree, Jeff Buckley is amazing, but I'm talking current mainstream. I'm so tired of hearing Kesha and Rihanna on repeat on pretty much every radio station. They need to be playing more stuff like this.

  • @omgitsrebeccab good music everywhere my friend. just have to know where to look, and what to look for. Dallas Green started out very similar to most solo artists regardless of where there from. Anthony Green, Tilian Pearson, Jonny Craig (although not a fan) but you get the idea.

  • @ThatsGloriouss Oh I totally agree. I love discovering new music; I just wish American radio stations gave more airtime to artists like Dallas Green. That's all. I really didn't mean to start World War III over my comment.

  • i got to meet DG at sxsw 2011. He is a great guy and amazing artist. Im sure we can all relate to the music and feel the emotion as he sings... I know I can! :) <3

  • I saw them live last night with my best friend and not only did she touch his foot but he also threw his guitar pick on the stage and she got it. Easily one of the best bands I have ever heard live. <3 I LOVE YOU DALLAS!

  • Got my tickets to see them February on the Rock!!! C'mon 'wit it!!!

  • @MrHopper33 Yeah!! Me too!!!

  • SEE THEM LIVE!!!

  • Comment removed

  • u cant even see the dislikes, haha haters... its a pretty good song

  • 'oo the fack dislikes this?

  • GOING FOR MY 16TH<3 FUCK YEA

  • Seeing them in Febuary !!!!!! STOAKED TO THE MAX IMMA CRY SOO HARD AND I DUN EVEN CARE

  • @KSilentbob02 dude. if i ever got tickets to see City&Colour, i would literally WET MYSELF in excitment.

  • @MegaCookiesCream Dude imma prolly ball my eyes out like a little child when I go to see them. Seeing live music is like the best way to spend money imo cause u have memories of it forever especially when you love the artist or band. Saw blink 182 in the summer and thats what made me want to start going to more shows.

  • @CircaAnn No Fucking Shit.

  • @hXcHOLDENhXc I was waiting for someone to respond like that.

  • @hXcHOLDENhXc Geez.... Some of us have only just discovered this band, you know.

  • @CircaAnn

I'm pretty sure this is exactly what he was thinking when he thought of the name :)

  • Oh my this is a beatuiful song. I got chills listening to this, songs that give you goosebumps are the best.

  • omg people really? obv his name resembles a city and a colour duhh

jk i didnt even know until i read these comments lol x

  • Dallas Green is by far one of the best singers i have ever heard.

  • I feel like more metal heads like City and Colour than people who actually like this type of music. Probably one of my favorite bands but completely different than what I usually listen too.

  • @thousandfootkrutchro somehow this is extremely true. i guess it shous how great his music is, because people that arent even into this genre are won over by his music.

  • @thousandfootkrutchro city and colour is actually just the stage name for one person not a band. but good to hear you're into it

  • @thousandfootkrutchro Well he definitely has the support of almost any post-hardcore fan.

  • @thousandfootkrutchro Couldn't agree more. I'm a huge metalhead, but this guy is just....an amazing artist. I think people who listen to metal (for the most part) appreciate musical talent more because of how rigorously we have to defend our genre. Dallas is amazing, he's got talent coming out of his ass.

  • @maxcourchesne It's frustrating how much we have to defend metal...listening to this is nice sometimes because we don't have to defend it.

  • @thousandfootkrutchro you's sure right bout dat'n..

  • @thousandfootkrutchro

Same here! I listen to melodic death metal and symphonic death metal mostly... and of course this.

  • @thousandfootkrutchro thats a fact cause most people know dallas from alexisonfire :)

  • shit this

  • click the snow button AMAZING

  • This song + sensual lovings!

  • @LukeFellows1 @colourmewicked thanks guys! ha

  • Just stumbled upon "city and colour". Very nice song

  • @MyUsername156 listen to all the stuff you can its life changing music .

  • so i dont know if im clever, or if this was common knowledge, or maybe im just overthinking it... but dallas=city and green=colour. whaaaat!

  • @CircaAnn you are clever =^.^=

  • @CircaAnn Lol, yea all C&C fans eventually have that epiphany ^^

  • @CircaAnn mhm thats the point! c:

  • @CircaAnn

lol everyone figures it out at some point

  • @CircaAnn /slowclaps :P

  • Comment removed

  • @CircaAnn woahh never did I put two and two together nice job!

  • @CircaAnn dallas named his band after his name , because when he use to go places and people would ask how to spell his name correctly he would say "like the city and color" and he is from canada i believee which explains the way he spells colour! (: haha

  • @CircaAnn btw im not trying to be a smart ass or anything,i just thought you might be interested to know !(:

  • @CircaAnn He felt it was cheesy releasing under his own name so he chose that :) (thank you wikipedia :3)

  • @CircaAnn holy shit, i feel stupid i think you just figured it out!

  • @CircaAnn that's why it's his stage name. He didnt want to put Dallas Green on an album

  • @CircaAnn he didn't want his solo project to be titled as his name, and wasn't feeling very creative that day. lol.

  • @CircaAnn Nah, You're just very slow

  • @CircaAnn ahhh really?

  • @CircaAnn Don't listen to the miserable cynics and critics who respond to you expressing yourself on this video. In fact, do your best, unless earnest introspection of yourself compels you to believe that there may be something to it, not to acknowledge it anywhere. You don't need others to validate you as an individual; they're primates, just like you and I. We all come into this world crying and shitting ourselves, and if we are conscious at the end, we'll all go out in some similar fashion.

  • @themediocrenontheist Do everyone a favor and leave your community college freshman style philosophy where we don't have to see it.

  • @MrIbanos I'm wagering that your petulant reply was kindled by my "primates" statement, and that you're a creationist.

  • @MrIbanos Again, pathetic college freshman logic."He doesn't feel that my comment was insightful, so he must not have the same beliefs as I do!" Sad. It has nothing to do with your pathetic attempt at justifying your sad, underdeveloped ideals, but I'm an atheist. Unlike you, I'm not the kind that feels that having different religious beliefs invalidates a persons opinion. Keep preaching, you close minded "philosopher", I'm sure you'll find someone inexperienced and ignorant enough to listen.

  • @CircaAnn thats why he did it. he was going to name the band dallas green but didnt want to make it so self centered, so he came up with city and colour

  • @CircaAnn Common knowledge

  • @CircaAnn

OMG I have been a fan of his right from the very start and I NEVER noticed that... that's pathetic LOL.

  • Dallas Green is the most underrated musician of this generation. His music is true, poetic, heartbreaking, and comforting all at the same time. I made an account just to like this song.

  • I saw City and Colour two days ago at Mr. Smalls Theatre. When he played this I just started bawling. There are no words to describe that concert. I yelled, I sang every song, I laughed, I cried, and there was just this overwhelming feeling of completeness. Sad? Listen to City and Colour. Happy? City and Colour. Angry? City and Colour. Hopeless? City and Colour. Feeling worthless? City and Colour. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Dallas Green. You make me feel so much better about life.

  • Ohh if only this song had existed and I heard it back in Oct of 2010, maybe things would have changed between me and her. But nope, I am alone in my room with a fifth of vodka and rum. I truly miss her :'(

  • One of the best songs ever

  • this song is so perfect

  • this is an awesome song, cant wait to see him in febuary :)

  • He's the most amazing man ever. Especially live. saw him like 2 days ago and this song makes me over-filled with emotion because I miss him. <3

  • loveeeeee this. <3.

  • Among the best songs of 2011

  • 9 people need glasses,

they all missed the like button ;)

  • Hearing this live is incrediable! Love the record and DG rocks. Those 8 pople who disliked this must be mentally retarded

  • Just saw him play last night. Beautiful. :')

  • @ammiestrickland sameee :D

C&C has legit pulled me thru soooo many dark times in my life and I wish I could see them in my city this febuary but tix are sold out D: :'( :(

  • I spend most of my time sitting at school with suicide silence eating away at my ear drums,

i never though i would like soft music , ever , then my friend showed me this band was i was upset one day.I now im pretty in love with C&C <3

  • @Seekbr0mance im proud of you. glad you didnt go through with it. this song is amazing

  • @DrMusicdrunk dude he's talking about a metal band, not actual suicide. Search the band and you will see what he means lol.

  • @Seekbr0mance SUICIDE SILENCE FTW!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @Seekbr0mance

    "this band"...IT'S ONE PERSON, PEOPLE.

  • @MichaelBallack91

whoa there bubs. Do you realize the others that help his project. It's mostly Dallas. yes, but there are others that put just as much hard work into the songs as he does.

  • @MichaelBallack91 Thats been annoying me too

  • @Seekbr0mance dude, its one guy. not a band.

  • @BillyTheKidOMG he is one guy ;) but i didn't know he played this song live all by himself! :O hahah

  • @BillyTheKidOMG

he has a backup band though. notice the drums and such. he talks about them in an interview

  • @Seekbr0mance ...........dont worry about dying, you will one day it's the only thing that will catch up with you, just let it happen with age. Meantime thank yourself lucky to be alive enjoying music!!!

  • @scottcaldow the 2 things u can be sure about in this world we all going 2 pay tax and we are all going 2 die :)

  • my song for my boyfriend.

we saw him live a couple weeks ago, so amazing.

  • this man gives me hope for current music. I almost gave up on all of it... what an artist

  • @youbet2011 there's always good music, so dont give up- perhaps you're not looking hard enough....

  • I love you so much but you love it more.

  • This is flawless, so so so beautiful. City and Colour never disappoints me

  • Can we please put our differences aside? Beautiful music like this is brought down by comments like these. Let us enjoy in peace

  • I just fell in loveeee <3

  • this is a really beautiful song, the power that comes through is strong, the harmony is soothing, dallas green is an extremelly talented man and those who don't think so don't bother writting hate, leave the comments for those who love him <3

  • does anyone know any other artists with a style like this guy? i need as many as you can name :)

  • @xxFalleNz ,

Try listening to David Ramirez. He is a local artist that I've loved for years.

  • Nice and clean. Fucking work of art right there, mans got mad skill

  • MY GOD this is gorgeous.

  • beautiful and soulful

  • <3

  • never shout never i feel wants to be city and color...... i say yes.

    Dallas Green is BOSS.

  • that made me remember so much of who i use to be.

  • Why is there all this hate on a City and Colour video?! Get out

  • whoever disliked this is getting an asswhoopin!

  • the music to this song makes me cry

  • Does anyone have the tabs for the solo?

I suck at playing by ear. :(

  • These lyrics actually make me cry....im such a bad person :/

  • Dallas always stirs up old feelings and mermories which seem to hard to confront at times, but some how im addicted to his music. It's haunting.

  • @lachlanSB right :o

  • As a musician it kills me to hear the ignorance that gets so much airplay these days. Why is this not played 20 times a day on the radio versus Justin Bieber and LMFAO?

Maybe someday things will be as they should.

  • 2:53-3:02 most beautiful harmony i've ever heard

  • @sadedamola7 i meant to vote up... lol i messed up, but i agree 100%

  • @xRaiicz buy it!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dallas Green is the shit, nobody can hate. Either Alexisonfire, or City & Colour, it's just great.

  • Who ever is saying anything bad about Dallas or this song, usually I would start cussing, but I dont want to because you're obviously either jealous of Dallas, or just dont understand the song but to sum my comment up, you are a retard.

  • City and Colour is AMAZING! Dallas Green can write some amazing music.

  • He's just true.

  • can't get enough of this album.

  • Oh gosh, Dallas Green, you melt my heart <3

  • Do you know those bands that every single song sounds so beautiful to you, and every song is so different, yet so similar in amazingness? I didnt. Until i found city and colour.

  • I'm a small town kid saving up money to go on a pilgrimage to see Dallas in concert.

  • please check out my version of this beautiful song :) I met these guys last week.... they are so awesome
