@stenobro I dont use that loading pin when using this belt. I just slide the plates on like you see at :50. I was just demonstrating how to use a loading pin.
@rmsolympic1 You can buy loading pins for weight plates on ironmind, atomicathletic, torqueathletic or other strength equipment websites-there are plenty out there. I dont know of a loading pin for a dumbbell and not sure how/why it would be used. You can use the belt without a pin for either plates (as shown) or dumbbells (just wrap the strap around the handle and turn it vertical. I hope this helps.
Nice review. II'm tempted to switch to this from a homemade chain and double caribiener setup. It seems safer. The only thing I wonder about ironmind is the fact that it doesn't seem to close or lock at the front. In your example it looks like the belt is only half on if you understand me. Does the weight of the plates keep it secure in practice? It looks like it could slide down your body from here. Thanks again.
This belt is very secure. I have never had any issues with it moving around, falling off or anything else. I have loaded light weight (10-20lbs) and heavy weight (100lbs) without issues. Keep in mind, this is the older style of this belt, however, the new one is very similar.
Can't wait to get mine :-) this video sold it to
me it's the best dipping belt period.

@werd2thamutha
If you go down to one knee, so that the weights are resting on the ground as you slide them onto the strap, it shouldn't be a problem at all.

your loading pin seems a bit long. It doesn't touch the ground while you're dipping?
