Any idea who the composer for this game was? Sounds a lot like Yoshihiro Sakaguchi (Yuukichan's Papa)... the only others I can think of are Junko Tamiya (Little Nemo, Bionic Commando, Strider, etc.) and Yoko Shimomura (Adventures in the Magic Kingdom).

For those of you who want to play this on guitar, you may want to change the tuning down a half step from standard, as the song sounds in F minor. This way, you can play rhythm as if the song were in F# minor, which gives you 5 open strings to use instead of just the 1 open string available in F minor. For the lead you'd just move everything up a fret from the F minor position. Particularly noteworthy is the way the main melody "plays through" the chords in the base melody (0:23-0:32).

I must say I spent hrs as well listening to this song as well as stage B (the kitchen) and stage D(the toy factory) and ill say this compared to game music now...nothing comes close to nes and snes. Although genesis had some good tracks like batman n robin, skitchen, sonics, shinobi and all time favorite streets of rage 1-3

It's absolutely not the same playin' it now (when I'm all grown, on the x-box emulator) as playin' it as a child. Even though it still is a marvelous game - the feelings are just not the same, sadfully. So I'm happy that I had the chanse of experience it while I was growing up! Nostalgia rules!
