Galway is a small city on the west coast of a small island maybe you should try to remember that, i have lived in many european cities that had absolutely no live music whatsoever.so if you play get a band together, make a cd and get some gigs and stop complaining..that what 'the boys' did and if you don't play maybe you should get down to a music store and learn and add some variety to the city!! p.s you could also check out lots of serious trad in lots of different pubs!! take care
hey joeskeane did you ever stop to think that it has nothing to do with the '5 bands' that the '5 pubs' cant find other bands to play?i think everyone would like more variety. As far as 'jobs for the boys' goes, you should try to live on what those pubs actually pay! man to be honest you could also cough up 10 euro and go to roisins where there are different bands every night!
As much as I'd love to make a well worded comment like @ulicegan1 , I think I'll just call @joeskeane a knob jockey.
If you go to the Kings Head, and the other four bars week in week out, thats all you can be in fairness.
