Jesus was probably real, just not the Jesus in the bible, as that has been translated and 'edited' so many times it's not reliable.
And while religion as a lot of right ideas, it's a very inefficient way of getting them across, and the idea of unquestioningly following an authority figure is an unhealthy one that can be exploited (e.g. Crusades). Also, some of the stuff taught is plain wrong.

@MrMilton702 dear Milton, what I was trying to say was that for me even if I had thousands of arguments that would prove that God exists, that still could not make me believe...for me the reason for belief must be personal, otherwise I would say: ok and what? I am not interested in any God.
But of course I have read literature about creationism and evolution, you can check out for example Lee Strobel´s Case for Creator or Josh McDowel´s Evidence That Demands a Verdict. Just try :)

@MrMilton702 well, the earth itself may be much older than couple thousands of years, but life can´t..Genesis, the first chaper...You know, yesterday as I was watching some videos of nature here on youtube I realized that the animals and shapes and nature is simply too amazing, too perfect, too complicated to be just an accident...life here is possible because too many factors are in the right relationship and proportion..isn´t it worth thinking?

If God is the source of life, if he is the one who created us, who knows us, who cares about us, the separation from God is death...If we refuse God as the source of life, the result is death. I don´t think God is eager to burn us in hell, if it were so he would not sent his son to be killed here to save us. God sent so many prophets and gave us the Bible just because He does not want us to die...but to have life...

Praise Jesus I used to be an atheist until I called out to GOD to save me, and now he speaks to me inside my Soul. Because I accepted Christ, I was fired from my medical research job when God showed me I no longer need to test hypothesis or calibrate tools to find the data in my research. Jimmyboy, there is no way you knew God for 15 years. If you truly knew and experienced God you would never say that. I am not sure what you did during that time but please don't think you knew God. Anyone who who knows/experiences God knows that - Better is one day in His courts than a 1000 anywhere else.

I have changed my view, and would change it again if new evidence showed I should. The question is, how close-minded are you? Be honest, can you think of anything that would cause you to not believe in god? If not, you are in no position to lecture on close-mindedness.

Jesus was probably real, just not the Jesus in the bible, as that has been translated and 'edited' so many times it's not reliable.
And while religion as a lot of right ideas, it's a very inefficient way of getting them across, and the idea of unquestioningly following an authority figure is an unhealthy one that can be exploited (e.g. Crusades). Also, some of the stuff taught is plain wrong.

Basicly, you have to believe Jesus wasnt real, or he was incredibly clever, beyond imagining, to orchestrate an almost flawless account of events from different witnesses, and create a religion that would last over 2000 years. As I am Christian, I must admit I have some bias.
Yet, thinking from a non-partisan perspective, the Biblical text is a historical account; whether there was bias or not is another interpretation.
Jesus was real and started Christianity, as all respectable scholars will agree with, regardless of religion.

Christianity is radical. If you're looking for an easy way out, it probably won't be fun for anyone to swallow.
It is founded on the concept of grace. That is, ultimate forgiveness and agape. That is what Jesus taught that is so radical. No matter how messed up we are, or the sins we commit (Crusades), Jesus bled for our sins to be cleansed from us. That is love. And that is the core of humanity, Christian or not.

I have had doubts about God, living as an agnostic, although born as a Christian.
Upon heavy consideration, I find that, if there is no God, why should I live in this terrible world?
I think agape is great, because it trusts others to respect your vulnerability.
That is happiness. The world doesn't have to be messed up.
If people take advantage of you, don't hold it against them.
It is wonderful to be free of constraints.

You can't be good enough. The commandments say of themselves if you transgress one, you've transgressed them all. Then where are you? there needs to be a payment for sin, and Jesus took it for you. No other way to God, whether you believe in Him or not, you will face Him one day. Would you rather it be as judge rather then Savior?

@csrliz344 Alright, I meant all commandments except the first 3. Because we all should act morally, not because we're afraid that some god is going to judge us and send us to hell, but because we are human beings and we show compassion for others. If there is a morally just god, I know that he won't make me eternally suffer just because I didn't say some prayers and worship him.

Great song, the Salvation Army band played this in Youth Councils 2011 in NJ, thats what brought me here. Amazing song, love it. The lord truly used this song to touch many teenagers in Youth Councils, this song is amazing.

@kiwigunz Loving this song and loving Jesus are two SEPARATE things. You must be either joking or younger than 12 to come up with that ridiculous explanation. If you have heaps of love for Jesus maybe you can give a little instead of only bragging about the heaps of it and judging others.
Whether or not this song is good is a matter of opinion. It's fact that it is quite repetitive, which is fine if you like it, but rather bothersome if you don't.

@tallliza God created the heavens and the earth. He created Adam and Eve. Everyone else is born, not created, so God has no involvement in still birth, which is part of the curse of death that Adam brought on mankind by rejecting God, and a natural thing as are floods, earthquakes, natural disasters, etc. However, He did send Jesus Christ so restore us back to Himself and give us life here and now.

@tallliza Death is separation from God, God said to Adam 'in dying you will die', in spiritual death (separation from God) you will have physical death. Jesus removed all barriers to being separated from God and so we can have life through Him.

The Bible said that man is without excuse because they have the law(ten commandments-moral law) written on their hearts. So as you can see you do not have a foot to stand on because your world view cannot account for morality without you siting Buddhism or which other religion. But I can account for it because the Bible has already spoken with authority. Just admit it God exists. He is real.
