****** Dear Lord Stotz ,watching and listening this post again and again ...Such a Brilliance ! ...is Vitriol of the Magnificence ...eternally oblige to Your Fascinated Portal to Absolute
I really appreciate your sharing this piece of music. After studying music at a fine arts camp this summer, I have gained a further appreciation for Couperin's works; they are certainly not easy, but very rewarding to play when serious work has been done.
This sounds a lot like the sample on PianoTeq's website! (Go to Listen > Historical Instruments) Of course, theirs is still a simulation, but it does a good job.
CHEF D'OEUVRE !... et l'une des meilleures interprétations !... Merci beaucoup !... La video et le paysage sont étonnants aussi, parfaits avec la musique !
The title has been linked to all sorts of barricades or obstacles to the mysteries that lay behind them. At least a few I have read think it refers to feminine virginity. Perhaps Couperin felt that those barricades should be high indeed, for only the worthy to "scale"! Lovely interpretation and wry video, as always, while keeping safe whatever the mystery actually is!
Myarvellous interpretation! I really like all the little things you do to avoid a machine-like impression. Very well done, not too much style brise, just the ticket!!
Thanks Gerald. Well one could easily think of the baricades of the French revolution, but it is more the baricades of the harmony. Couperin in this piece, gave it quite a romantic approach.
Beautiful rendition! Possibly my favourite piece for harpsichord. Loving the video as well - what editing software do you use? You achieve the look of Shelley Duvall's FAERIE TALE THEATRE with every video which adds a special texture to your work. Keep it up! :)

I heard that it might refer to the masks that people wore to balls back in those days.
