  • great exercise very hard to do! but work at it our school used this and we had 7 guys on our team with 36+ verticals and 4.5 40's

  • 1 of the most stupidest things i`ve ever seen.

  • @jujitsuman68 its sport specific. weight lifters need lots of power. this is one way of achieving that...and probably achieving an injury if he fails

  • @palangikai its the long term damage im talking about, i`ve done an exercise like that and never will. just STUPID,

  • damn, nice job.

  • That hurt my knees just looking at it...Damnnn

  • what is the purpose if that move?? only impress????....

  • No he didnt

  • really nice work. I hope you're still alive.

  • This really can't be good for your knees

  • respect that nigggaa

  • an ACL tear waiting to happen

  • @DynaGormod Olympic lifting

  • That's badass :D

  • For people saying that this is to train explosiveness:

    Back squats. /arguement

  • Good way to ruin your knees.

  • Awesome. explosive jumps what do they do?

    Build explosive power.

  • Impressive man ..you're strong. Cheers

  • Of all my years in the gym I've never seen this!?! O's it for Oly lifting?

  • I just want to do jump without weight! This is amazing! I was searching how to do it correctly! Impressive!

  • his girl will die if he fucks her from behind

  • awesome ! does this exercise mostly support your jumping height, or your performances in the squat and other lifts ?

  • Wow, extremely impressive!

  • hahahaha i thought it was 180kg ...396 pounds for a kneeling squat jump would be the most impressive thing ive ever seen

  • @JimmyD0YLE Dude, you don't think 1*80kg kneeling jump is impressive?!

  • It is 100% impressive that's for sure, but I won't incorporate it into my workout. I can do better stuff than that

  • I play Goalie in Hockey, maybe I'll try this exercise out.

  • Honest first impression: you're possibly an evil dude for posting this on the tube. (what with all people who gets the idea to try it)

  • wow, very impressive. I'd never do this myself but sick nevertheless

  • wow this is a great exercise. forceful hip extension is the foundation to explosive movements found in sports and Weightlifting. this is a simple yet effective way to isolate that movement but still apply an external load. cant wait to try it myself

  • -very bad exercise !! wow !! don t do this ever !!

-no good !! what for !! just to brake ligaments and muscles

  • @MrOprea3 nice reasoned argument.

  • @MrOprea3 Why NOT do this exercise? Work outs should be hard, challenging, and require all of your attention and effort not to fuck yourself up from them.

  • that would fuck my knees on a floor like that... also, hate to miss the lift. what happens then. impressive nonetheless

  • awesome!

  • HOLY SHIT!!

  • what the hell did he just do

  • lol

  • crap I tried that with no weights and hurt my leg, awesome

  • amazing

  • BEast

  • impressive

  • Ooooh laa de daaaa. Look at me I wear weightlifting gloves and gel my hair, I don't do squats because it hurts my knees and I don't deadlift because I might hurt my back. Think I'll just do another 15 sets of bicep curls in the squat rack. = Typical youtube lifting comment.

  • Now that's funny, that's exactly what your mom said when I put it up her stinker.

  • i don't think i would be able to do this with just my bodyweight.

  • this may be a stupid question, but what muscles are used in doing this type of jump, ive been doing it for years but never for any practical reason

  • And who said it's 180 kg? The description says 1*80 kg as in 1 rep of 80 kg. Go check your eyes.

  • holy shit.

  • Now let's think...what could be the point of an weighted explosive movement...

  • lllllllllloooooooooooooooolll

  • LMFAO!!!!!!!! DUDE that was just too funny haha

  • for a weighted explosive movement you can do olympic lifts or powerlifts with dynamic effort. this is a ridiculous movement that looks bad for your back and pretty much pointless

  • How does it look bad for your back? He maintains a perfectly neutral spine for the entirety of the movement and executes the landing properly. Any negative effects it has on his skeleton would easily be matched by the Olympic Movements.

  • yeah seems like he's got it down safe, its kinda like wrestling though: idiots who dont know what they're doing will try it and burst their back

  • yeah youre right his back stays straight. i guess it just looks like a weird exercise and its not obvious what it targets

  • what does it target.

  • glutes, probably lower back and stability jumping power, do them normal at first without weight obviously work up to weights and make sure you squat and deadlift you know how it is

  • thanks, i'll try these next week. looks really dangerous and fun... something to force me to use good form, lol.

  • its not bad for you back but its still not a very useful movement. That does not mean its not extremely impressive

  • @jonnosferatu hmmm are you really asking that question?

  • @jonnosferatu Exactly. What is the point of olympic weightlifting? lol

  • @jonnosferatu when you say explosive movement do you mean like benching with bands too? cause thats weighted, just wondering, not trying to be a dick

  • @jonnosferatu if you watch olympic lifters they are very powerful. this is simply a power exercise. FREAKING DANGEROUS!!! but great to generating the explosivness required

  • if i didnt know any better it looks as if he has no weight on his back.....dude is strong cool move

  • this is the end all and be all of olympic lifts I say this because this one of the videos I've seen that actually has olympic style lifts with hip extensions, if you want to see olympic liftings retarded cousin watch "Explosive Performance Systems Athletes" I was irate when I watched these meatheads do more of an upright row then hang clean-I think i'm just pissed I threw up on my keyboard after watching it

  • um, ok...agree that this is a great exercise, but this is not part of the olympic lifts. there are only two lifts performed in olympic weightlifting competitions: the clean & jerk, and the snatch. these may be used as an adjunct for training, but it is NOT an olympic lift

  • Respect! I will test it first without any weight *g*

  • crazy

  • nearly broke my ankle when i tried to do this lol.. kudos to ANYONE who can do this!

  • I dont think i can do that with just my body weight haha

  • whats this for? does it increase your vertical? is it complimentary to olympic style weightlifting?

  • it's to increase speed and explosion.

    louis simmon loves it.

  • looks like its isolating the hip extension movement to me, which is the most important in the vert jump

  • That was amazing. That is alot of fast twitch muscle fibers at work.

  • nice demo

  • thats was sick.
