Most of todays rappers are NOT Hip Hop they are only rappers. I live the hip hop culture - I wasd a B Boy - I was a break dancer - I wrote grafitti - I rapped - hip Hop Rapped! not the garbage done today. I lived and felt the essence of the culture and I know what it is. I know the history and what the culture is about. There are very few rappers today that even know what true hip hop is - Nas, Jay-Z, Common are amongst the very few artist (that are still out) that really know what hip hop is.
KRS is an important link to the founding fathers of the culture. KRS is doing what he should be doing - no one else speaks out like he does about the culture and it's preservation. A Hip Hop citizen is one who 1. knows and accepts the history of hip hop AND 2. took or takes part in one of the elements of hip hop - rapping isn't hip hop but an element of hip hop - the sad part is you can be a rapper and be the furthest thing from hip hop thats where the confusion comes in.
This is what happens when one try's to steals an idea from the creator who design it Hip Hop National museum staff are not Hip Hop but thanks for taking some off the beaten your head is not strong my head is stronger than yours.
Thanks KRS you made it clear to those who are not Hip Hop
IN ORDER TO BE hip hoP U NEED TO B DOWN bY LAW ,, OF gRAF ..wHO .. WILL TEXT SUDE FIRST CLASS AND TELL ME WHO ?WE NEED A LEADEAR WHO WANTS T B RESPONSABLE...STEP UP ..
I look forward to visiting an epicenter of Hip Hop memorabilia within this decade as it is long overdue. Let's truly honor these legends in the birth place of this culture. Why must we continue to hope that Cleveland finds space in their halls.
@DPerezmedia I agree wholeheartedly!!! Hip Hop needs a museum, and the pioneers need to coalesce to make it happen or someone who they don't like is gonna do it!
I'll take a f@#$kin tax to feed the culture that feeds me! Don't think because KRS talks a lot he's just hearing himself speak. Only hip hop heads with a vision of doing MAJOR renovation to the world take the chances the pioneers did. They faced death, prison and being disowned by their families. KRS spoke about it right here. I've been buying REAL hip hop forever-wtf TAKE a few dollars a month and make better music/entertainment for us.
@Jahrass7 Yes Commercial Hip Hop is about to get shot up and leave the game for awhile the way I see it. You Have Guys in the Industry selling Beats to people on the streets the lease it to somebody in the industry & act like the Little man wont hear about it or he cant touch them.Basically The Realness of the Streets will backfire on a Fake Commercial artist who is acting like they are street. Hip Hop Came from the streets & was Never Fake about anything. Commercial MC`s are Fake Dope Dealers.
