The problem is that it wasn't the Church's moral principles that were guiding this behavior. It was exactly the moral principles of the sexual revolution that were behind the clergy sex abuse crisis.
Faithfully adhering to the teachings of Christ and trusting in his grace would have prevented the problem in the first place.
