Very nice; I like this. Does that software have the sheetmusic built into it or did you insert that? Can you print it if you wanted to? If so....a very nice tool....might have to look into that. Thank you for sharing....I enjoyed this.
@crow32868 I'm using Sibelius 7, which is a notation program, so I inputted all the music myself :) I can print out the score, adjust absolutely any object or parameter, print individual parts, it's a really great program. In this video I've used a third-party piece of software called EastWest-QuantumLeap Symphonic Orchestra to help Sibelius play back the score with fairly realistic sounds; I discuss the system a bit in my other vids. Glad you liked it! :D
@MikeyIV I guess I'm kind of biased on that one :P I like EWQLSO because it lines up with what I want to do with Sibelius, but depending on what you want to do with your music, you may want other libraries, or a combination of several. It's really up to you. If you want to work with Sibelius and get a decent audio mock-up as you go, I guess EWQLSO is a solid start, other libraries to look at are LA Scoring Strings, CineBrass / CineOrch, and others, check them out too. But EWQLSO's my favourite.
@chuchitoRE There is no percussion in this particular piece actually, which is good, because I made the example a few weeks before I got the percussion to work anyway lol :P I actually also left out the Trombone, which I didn't get to work until about 5 days after the example was released.
You know, this is one of the only demos of an symphonic VST that was able to pull of a convincing facsimile of a large orchestra. I knew the technology had arrived, but it seems that precious few people are composing via notation software; You simply can't achieve high audio fidelity with these instruments by bashing away at a midi keyboard.
This isn't a perfect match for your local Philharmonic (and we'd all be foolish to expect as much!) but it sounds fantastic. Thanks so much for sharing! :)
@Scarbogn all film composers(John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Danny Elfman) borrow HUGELY from romantic composers like Tchaikovsky. The music we hear in movies is mostly from 19th century in general...not that theres anything wrong with that. there's a section in beethovens 5th, 1st movement, that reminds me of EVERYTHING John Williams has ever done... nice find though.
@Gonso96 well, you can do it a few ways: one is to set up a 'simple' manual sound set (more info in Sibelius Reference under 'Working With VSTs' and 'Manual Sound Sets'; or, you can get Jon Loving's EWQLSO Sound Set File, which also works reasonably well. But to do it the way I've done here, is more complicated - I'm working on a tutorial video, could be out by end of december; stay tuned!

Is EWQL the best sibelius sound library? What would you recommend?

How can you put EWQLSO Platinum on Sibelius? I'd like to try it :)
