  • was this guy good i wasnt around to watch him

  • Love the music cues from 1:36 and on...nice cannon shots!

  • He was 10 times the athlete of Aaron Rodgers... he could make more plays than Mike Vick and he could escape tackles as good as Ben Roethlisberger... Daunte Culpepper... Get Yo Roll On!

  • Beast year! good times

  • id be a good qb too if I was throwing to randy moss

  • @tendernipplez moss was injured for half of this season and DC was still bomb.

  • man. ever since the Vikings lost him, they have just been having QB problems every year. (with the exception of 2009)

  • ughhhh he was such a good QB. unfortunately he never recovered from that panthers game were he blew his knee.

  • He was only a 6'4" 265lbs QB who ran like a 4.5 40 yd dash lol

  • too bad the vikings didn't have the williams wall together that year

  • @gntluvr coincidentally they got them together the very next year. until then they had just Kevin Williams.

  • wow that pass @ 2:13 to randy moss was one of the best passes I have ever seen..... crazy!!

  • Moss made Culpepper. Period. The second Moss left, Culpepper went to crap

  • @tamblyn11 then how would you exokain the fact that culpepper had an MVP type season in a year when moss only could play half the season?

  • @sportsfreak78 What season was that?? Apart from 98, the minimum amount of games Moss played was 13 in 04 for the Vikes, and he still had 13 Td's that year

  • @tamblyn11 well he actually only played in 11 games that year, 2 being that he played only the first play of the game to preserve his start streak. Then factor in that in his first 2 games back from injury he was hobbling around and a complete non factor. He was also injured in a SNF game against the saints at halftime. Culpepper proceeded to throw 3 of his 5 tds and no picks AFTEr moss left the game, it really comes out to 8 healthy games for moss in 04. Culpepper in 04 could have won MVP

  • real Viking fans know Moss made Culpepper better....I mean shit Moss made Jeff George look like a pro bowler.....Culpepper is ok at best but he doesn't know how to handle big pressure games, he rarely had come back winning games, and if he throws 2 INTs its a guaranteed loss

  • he was good when he played for oakland, just was too banged up for whatever reasons. hes a beast, plain and simple

  • he was dam a good qb!!!! but when he ran u couldnt do ne thing but but hit him low. jus think, u r a db at 185 or mayb 200lbs if ur lucky here comes a linebacker for a qb at 265 or 275lbs that can run and he's running at u. what do u do??? at 1 time he and mcnabb were the two biggest qbs n da league

  • anybody who says Daunte wasn't a good qb is either retarded, or doesn't know a thing about football. The Guy had the best deep ball in history, and did he have good receivers yes but he also made them even better i've been aroun dfootball along time and know a good qb when i see one, and not only was he good he was great! if it wasn't for that injury he'd be a hall of famer just like Mcnabb wil be!!!

  • @sarahlippert Randy Moss was already great dumbass.

  • this was a sick fucking year for daunte...

  • was there a better madden combo then daunte to randy moss?

  • @baller4621 How about Vick and no recivers? :P

  • @baller4621 No. No there wasn't

  • I say this ALL the time and ppl think i'm crazy, but I watch alot of football and Daunte Culpepper threw the best deep ball I ever seen. And it's not about Randy Moss being on the end of most of those. The placement, the air he got under those things...I mean, ppl take it for granted how hard it is to throw an accurate deep pass.

  • Randy Moss was the best thing that ever happened to this guy. Once Moss was traded to the raiders, Culpepper was never the same. His last season with Moss he had a career high 39 touchdowns. The next 5 seasons without Moss, Culpepper had a grand total of 20 touchdowns with 4 different teams.

  • 1:19 for lets get fucked up XP

  • I think he can still make it in the NFL, aren't the Vikings in need of a QB?..

  • @WESTSIDETRUE fuck no. he's no good. he wasnt that great with us. moss made him.

  • josh freeman is the closest thing to culpepper in his prime and hes entering his 3rd season, playing like a vet without a moss-type wr

  • culpepper wasnt a bad qb at all and what happened to him in 2005 he was shell shocked with a poor o-line and a season ending knee injury. after THIS EPIC 2004 season, the vikes should have done all they could to keep the culpepper/moss combo and improve the defense and o-line. dont forget they had burleson too and moss was playing with a bad ankle in 2004. this team was sooooo set offensively

  • @mistermista00 He wasn't a bad qb. Moss had plenty to do with his success but ppl forget Pep did well without Randy that year who basically wasn't the same after tearing his hammy early in the season. In those first 5 games the Vikes offense was close to '98 level, Pep was averaging over 350ypg and had 18:3 TD:INT ratio. Damn that Saints db who undercut Moss, it changed everything. If Moss plays a full season scores 20+ TDs there's no way McCombs get him traded to Oakland and he stays a Viking.

  • just wonder how it would have been had he stayed healthy .man imagine him with all day and rice not to mention harvin ..and moss probably would have loved to stay with the viks his 2nd time around .but we can blame Brad Childress for giving up on Culpepper too soon

  • It's ridiculous who talks shit about him, he was a great QB but the injuries just killed him. To the youngs, if you like something, know the history of it before to start talk shit like if you were the greatest troll on the earth.

  • wish he never got hurt!

  • @dal4018 clearly. he'd have won the mvp in 2004 if it weren't for peyton, and he did it with moss out for like 6 games and a bunch more at 50%. but whatever i'm a packers fan so i'm glad he's not suiting up for them anymore.

  • @guochocinco You got that right he would have won the LEAGUE MVP were it not for #18 in Indiana

  • He make broken plays look beautiful

  • We all know about his physical qualities,it's a given. But , at best he struggeled. He had a a difficult time reading defenses. Once Moss left it was worse, since now there was no longer double coverage to speake of, so he then teams could really spread the field. The book on him in MN. was he'd turned the ball over consistently. Small hands for such a big man so he fumbled often, and OH those interceptions at the critical times. He's a perfect modern day, TV type of player though.

  • this was a ridiculous year for daunte even with moss out for half the season. you hate to see people hurt and screw up such a promising career but as a packers fan i'll admit i'm glad he's not a viking anymore.

  • @guochocinco Culpepper didn't ruin his career it was the fault of Childress. The head coaching job should have been given to Scott Linehan he was the offensive co-ordinator after Brian Billick left to be the top man in Baltimore and he and Culpepper had a great relationship.

  • @dal4018 I never said he did. But he never did recover from that injury in '05 so it's not all on the coaching

  • @guochocinco What the knee injury if that is what your talking about then okay its legit but I still say #11 was a upper elechelon signal caller.

  • Daunte used to be my favorite QB in the NFL. his career ended way too early

  • @K2Homie Mine too at one time ther person who should have ben removed from the NFL was his so-called coach Brad Chldress

  • Daunte was so good he made even Troy Williamson look like a legit receiver

  • @JGT021 I think #11 was gone before Williamson arrived on the scene in Vikingland

  • @dal4018 He was? I thought Williamson's first year was Daunte's last, but I could very well be wrong....I'll have to do some research haha

  • @JGT021 Okay get back to me on this

  • @JGT021 Okay thanks

  • sadest part about his time in detriot, he actually wanted to play well the next year, showed up for all the workouts, lost over 40 pounds, and looked ready and healthy, but he never got the shot i admire that he is looking good in the minor leages, and i hope he can come back for one final round. i was a huge fan and he was the last great qb that the vikings drafted, sad it ended so badly.

  • it breaks my heart what happened to him, he had no wrs after moss left, and tried to do it all on his own, he torn his legs to pieces and was shipped out before he could heal, maimi told to play on day one, and he never recovered, okland was jump a bad team too, he retired, was out for more than a year, and lions beg him to play, and he showed, SOME, signs of his old skills, but he is not why they went 0-16,

  • cullpepper was a very sad tale for a player and a vikings, he had talent and learned the game from randall cunningham, he had a great arm and powerful legs, his deep ball was golden, he had a huge year in 2004, randy moss and cullpepper were great for one another, but after randy got traded, they both fell apart, randy came back. but this could happen to any qb, after randy left, he had no one to throw too, since moss left, the vikings have had one 1,000 yard reciver, syndey rice

  • Ummmmm.... no. This video should be called Vikings reciver highlights 2004

  • as a packers fan, i have to see that culpepper was a hell of a qb. A lot of people say it was because of moss, but culpeper was so big, strong and fast as a qb, and he had such an effective deep ball, i am just surprised that his career plummeted after that season,,, just imagine how good the qbs in the nfc north would be right now if culpepper had stayed and kept up that kind of play

  • i wish we would have that type of qb in the nfl. i thought russel would playout but he blew as well as the raiders blew.

  • I didnt know culpepper was that good back in the day. I only saw the sucky culpepper .08

  • @grinningchicken Culpepper was a 1st round draft pick in that QB class of '99 that included McNabb,Couch,McNown,Smith.

  • @jbodine90 Blame Childress for Culpepper being in the minor leagues

  • @dal4018 yea he cut culpepper and Moss, moss twice. now look were childress is.

  • @cheesin24 JUSTICE HAS BEEN SERVED!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @dal4018 blame culpepper. moss and the 2004 pass interference lockdown penalties made culpepper's stats look good.

  • @VikeFan284296 You call yourself Vikings fan and your ripping your top QB.Culpepper could still play even now!!!!!!

  • @dal4018 no im telling the truth. moss makes everyone look good. todd bouman, gus frerotte, JEFF GEORGE, the resurrection of randall cunningham....i call myself a smart vikings fan actually.

  • @VikeFan284296 Okay yes then your saying Moss was good at his job then why didn't he do anything down in Tennessee with Vince Young?

  • @dal4018 Moss 1998-2009 was waaaaay different than Moss of 2010. Watch some football. We all knew his heart was with New England.

  • @VikeFan284296 Then he should have never left in the fiirst place but he wanted a new contract don't blame him but he knew from the git go that Belichick is EXTRA CHEAP when it comes to contract negotiations!!!!!!!!

  • @dal4018 If you give no effort, then yeah. You'll be blamed.

  • @VikeFan284296 Hey Moss gave plenty of effort he wanted to be payed as a top WR he put Brady in the NFL record books in '07.

  • @VikeFan284296 As stated before Moss gave plenty of effort in New England he was the MOST EXPENSIVE DECOY in the NFL.He allowed Wes Welker to be a effective slot WR

  • @dal4018 lol, he was anything but a decoy, he set the single season record for TD's with the Patriots

  • @chargerfan4life21 Yes I know during that yr '07 he definitely earned his keep but afterward teams used double teams to take away the deep ball Brady got used to throwing allowing Welker to go unmolested in the slot position.

  • Daunte was a BEAST as a viking!!

  • It's over!

  • Culpepper will be looked as one of the most succesful quarterbacks out there. I respect him alot. Sure he didn't do great with the last few years, but he had alot of good years in the NFL. And that is a big acomplishment for a player like him.

  • i wish favre could throw like that

  • man i remember these days hen the vikings used to beat up on my bears i always loved watching their games culpepper was a beast i dont know if he still can though?

  • is this guy still playing??

  • @2r3notgoodas1 he plays in the ufl for sacremento

  • moss back to minnesota? up next culpepper for 2011?? haha i wish, that team would be scary. fuck that shawn kid, probably just looks at stats on the computer lol, culpepper has one of the highest completion percentages in NFL history faggot, and that's with his "small hands" boo fucking hoo. you probably like the lions don't ya? all those years where culpepper torched your defense left you bitter huh?? it's okay. matthew stafford will last about 2 more years until he's in a wheelchair

  • I remember when Daunte Culpepper was one of the top 5 QBs in the league. It was McNair, Manning, Vick, McNabb, and Culpepper

  • Lol at 1:03

  • i feel like if he was given another shot at starting on a decent team he wouldn't dissapoint if given time to get back into his old groove. of course you're going to start to suck if you play for teams like the lions for a few years.

  • good video - looks like rookie Joe Webb in preseason (running plays)

  • i hate this overrated peace of shit, look at the fucking receivers he had with the vikings, not to mention his offencive line gave him so much time in the pocket. Backup like that will make anyone look good.

  • @shawn3975 How is he overrated? Durring his prime, he had an amazingly strong arm and he was deadly accurate. Most of his passes are spot on. Quit being a hating bitch you little fuck.

  • @ChargersrBA culpecker aint shit.he fumbled all the time and said it was because of his small hands.fagget.

  • @shawn3975 Are you fucking retarded? Culpepper was a beast in his prime. He may have fumbled alot but he still could throw the ball good. Your just looking at 1 stat catagory. Thats like if you based your opinion on brett favre just on the amount of interceptions he's thrown.

  • @ChargersrBA Culpecker sucks,he fumbles all the time, cant read defenses, and he has spent half his career on the bench. He does not even come close to favre.Case in point, Vickings pass rushing now isnt shit comparied to when they had culpecker. And look what favre did in just 1 year with them. and favre only had 7 interceptions last year. and dont forget we are talking about a 40 year old man.

  • @shawn3975 ok, i finally realized that u commented back, but seriously ur stupid. I didnt compare him to Favre. I said that your basing your entire opinion on Culpepper on his fumbles. If you base your opinion of Favre on the amount of turnovers he had, he would look likethe worst qb ever.

  • @shawn3975 I do believe that's called DOING THEIR JOB

  • @dal4018 Thats exactly my point. The Vikings had a MONSTER offense when Culpecker started for them and people gave him all the credit when he was the one fumbling every other snap. If they would have kept Brad Johnson in '99 the Viks would have won a SB and thats a fucking fact.

  • Comment removed

  • @shawn3975 The Vikings were not going to let Culpepper sit on the bench after spending a first round pick on him.

  • @dal4018 They spent a first round draft pick on him? AHHAHAHAHAH!!! What a deal! Hearsal Walker all over again. NO! Its worse, at least Walker played well for other teams. AHHAHAHAHAH!!!

0-16 with the Lions, a record that will never be broken. AHHAHAHAHA!!!

  • @shawn3975 Yes the Vikings spent a 1st round pick upon him and don't blame Culpepper for the Lions mark of 0-16.They were a league wide joke before he came along!!!!!!!!At least he played in the playoffs where were the Lions they were home watching!!!!!!!!!

  • @shawn3975 Culpepper had his monster season in 2004 when the vikings were struggling. in 2004 he finally had the season he needed to get his career going but then he got hurt. if he never would have gotten hurt he probably would still be with the vikings and be an elite QB in the league. take the legs out of the horse and u have nothing! I respect culpepper a hell of alot he was the guy when i was a child and i dont like it when people talk shit about him!

  • @SBRHBK dude culpepper sucked prior to his injury in 2005. once moss left, he was done.

  • SKOL VIKINGS! thanks for this video brings back a lot of fond memories as a young Viking fan... and boy my dad and I won a ton of fantasy football leagues with Culpepper at the helm

  • man culpepper favre and peterson would've be epic. i hate this dude got sold like some scrap metal.

  • What was the name of this song????????

  • @jayNicks10: "Carmina Burana" by German composer Carl Orff (1895-1982).

  • Culpepper isn't retired anymore! he's gonna be playing in the UFL

  • I agree that McKnown sucked. What I'm saying is McKnown never played in an offense like the Vikings. That little deep threat means nothing to me. He wasn't a Randy Moss. Kurt Warner was a good quarterback, but the 1999-2001 Rams team made him better. Plus the Vikings also made the playoffs with all of those different quarterbacks under Green.

  • Kevin more on Childress he always put #7 in bad situations where the opposing team knew he was forced to throw the ball.Put #7 in passing situations and there would have been no need for#4 to come to Minnesota.

  • Winkie and McKnown never had an offense. That's like putting Brett Favre with the Rams right now. Favre is great, but he has a team around him.

  • @skwira001 Are u kidding in the case of McNown Chicago had one of the best deep passing attacks(Thank you Gary Croton) in the late 90's only St.Louis,Minn were better. Now in the case of Winkie he was stuck in QB hell in Tampa Bay

  • put this guy in a saints uniform behind brees....he wont suck then, hes just been behind teams with such shit O Lines since 05 that he has almost no opportunity to relive his 04 season. He'll be a NFL starter again someday

  • That man could sure run it and gun it

  • He sure did have cannon arm

  • @JSqAuD14 In his class of '99 among all those QB'S Culpepper was the strongest by far!!!!!!!!

  • his weakness TINY HANDS

  • @jakemerks How was he able to grip the ball then?

  • we should have daunte culpepper back because we have sindey rice, percy havin, bennard barren and adrain peterson. we might go to the superbowl if he is back

  • @260kevinsutton Kevin you guys have a top notch QB in #7 Tavaris Jackson his problem is Brad Childress and his conservative philosophy on offense. The only reason he opened up on offense is Brett Farve if he had done this with Jackson I think the Vikings could have gone to the Super Bowl.

  • @dal4018 they should get rid of tj

  • @260kevinsutton No way then who 's going to be the eventual successor for #4 they should have gotten rid of Brad Childress they only reason he's still around is Farve if not for him he would have been fired already.TAVARIS 4EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @dal4018 tj is not as good than daunte culpepper and brett favre because 2 of them has more touchdown and pass yard than TJ. It is no way the vikings will not go to the superbowl. So I rather get rid of TJ

  • @260kevinsutton Both Culpepper and Farve have more playing experience obviously and they had head coaches who allowed them to do their jobs.If #7 had a coach who allowed him to do the same thing he would be among the best young signalcallers in the NFL.AGAIN#7 4EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @dal4018 yeah but it was himalited in 2008 when hit was always hit

  • @260kevinsutton Kevin I still say that before #4 came along Brad Childress was the problem.I felt that if ex-Viking offensive co-ordinator Scott Linehan was offered the job in Minn #7 would be much more developed as a QB his QB friendly offense was the reason Culpepper had success after Brian Billick left. And it would have been the same for #7 as well.

  • @dal4018 told you man vikings sucks because brad childress release randy moss

  • @260kevinsutton I agree with you and they were terrible because of Childress and his poor play calling he should have been fired a long time ago before it got this bad.Scott Linehan should have been named the head coach after Mike Tice was released. If that was the case Culpepper would still be playing in the NFL.

  • Comment removed

  • THIS IS MY MAN ON MADDEN hahahah

  • If Culpepper was healthy and is still in the Vikes, and Randy Moss+Adrian Peterson was still there, Vikes offense would have been totally unstoppable

  • @skw4712 Culpepper + Moss were already good so there was no chance of them getting a top 10 draft pick AP in 2007.

  • Madden is a dick!

  • Yeah 04 was a great year for him, almost MVP..I think Saban killed his spirits in Miami.

  • @DaunteCulppepper Your right DC Saban was another QB killer

  • Daunte was the best QB I have ever seen it's a shame injury took away his career.

  • SNIFF DO YOU SMELL THAT A MINNESOTA Reunion IN 2011 MOSS said he probably wasn't gonna be with the pats after the 2010 season and Daunte went to the UFL to show he can still play and im preaty sure Favre isn't playing after 2010 if Daunte can light it up in the UFL and Moss leaves it could happen if you remember when moss was talking about his contract a couple years back him and daunte talked about reuniting it could happen

  • @dogggcatt2 Yes but that reunion could take place in Tennessee they are trying to trade Vince Young and start fresh.Moss is still on the roster maybe the owner Bud Adams could talk to the owner of the team that Culpepper plays for in the UFL.

  • beast

  • Favourite QB ever!

  • Haha soon Duante will be the All-pro at the fry station at Mcdonalds. "Ignant" fool!!!

  • Daunte was one of the most spectacular players before raiders shut down his career.

The game was boring between the Plummer's and the Favres'

  • Daunte Culpepper and Randy Moss back then were one of the best, if not the best (second to maybe Rice and Montana) WR and QB duo's ever. They kicked everyone's ass, and add in the veteran Cris Carter in there, and they were sick. Reppin' UCF.

  • He was a badass for a couple years before his injury. Now he's just not that guy anymore, not even close.

  • @FlexibleElf You never know in the NFL maybe he'll have a resurgence

  • damn he sucks badly

  • nope, lions made him suck, and before that, the raiders did a good job at making him suck. and even before that the dolphins blew too!

not his fault he wants to start so bad that he goes on high school level teams.

  • @KN1992 what are you talking about dumbass

  • @bevans52 I'm talking about soulja boy getting bitch slapped by martin luther king, idfk haha learn to read or something dude?

  • @KN1992 His knee injury brought his physical prowess down, and that exposed the fact that he did not put the work into the game that other QBs do. He was not in the building on Tuesdays breaking down film. He had the physical abilities, but he relied on them.

  • @chukmaty true, but if he was given a chance with a team that had an NFL caliber line to the very least; he'd be a starter still in my opinion. for example: put him somewhere like New England if Brady got injured, he'd tear up (if matt cassell can anyone can haha) anyways..the NFL needs another QB like him in his prime, Vick is close but not at the same size and gets hit wayyy too much. Here's to hoping Cam Newton or Terrell Pryor next year can fit the bill...

  • @KN1992 He is not a hard enough worker off the field to fit with the Pats.

  • Detroit didnt make him bad. Daunte sucked even before he went to detroit. I seen his stats. Good try blaming it on the lions tho.

  • Pro Bowl with the Vikings? RAPE

  • Who exactly are you raping? 3 pro bowl.... great. That's pretty much the only thing he did in his career. have 3 good years, and then get injured...

  • so obviously he's good.

  • @Synicaalescape which is 3 years more then you'll ever know..... For all of you who forget, Daunte was the mold for which QB's are drafted for now. he was 6' 5" 265 lbs. No QB before him had that size and produced (passing AND rushing) the numbers he did. Now the trend is for big QBs in the NFL. Give Daunte his props, Before his injury he was a monster. Ask any defensive coach if he was worried about Culpepper, Carter and Moss in their day.

  • @Synicaalescape What do you mean that Culpepper's stats were horrible

  • @dal4018 well not when he was in his prime. But post-injury.

  • @Synicaalescape Of course post injury he's weak but as stated before he should not have been allowed to leave Minnesota.YES AZROCK HOF DT HOWIE LONG OF OAKLAND SAID "WATCHING #11 PLAY QB WAS ESSENTIALLY JUST LIKE HIM LINING UP BEHIND CENTER.

  • Daunte Culpepper + Randy Moss was da best

  • I loved him and Jermaine Wiggins... thanks for this video... brought back a lot of memories

  • dante is still a good qb the lions jus aint got no freakin oline

  • Back in the day...

Well the Vikes are better now :P

  • too bad he sucks dick now... go lions

  • too bad the lions suck dick always suck dick and make everyone appear that they suck dick, haha

  • At least Jon Kitna had better fucking number than Daunte

  • haha you cant compare the two, kitna's team actually had somewhat of a line, and more than one receiver, and mike martz as coordinator, so he threw like 80 passes a game, culpepper would tear kitna's shit up hah

  • I lov edaunte..but....

    MOSSSSSSSSSSS

  • right chris weinke and kade mcnowan aint do nuthin in the nfl but culpepper put up hall of fame numbers

  • if Kurt Warner can make a comeback......So can Daunte Culpepper!

  • any1 know this song?

  • It's O Fortuna

  • now look at him. hes horrible. fck u stafford for takin his career away. he wuld still be amazing

  • Again I go back to 2001 and 2002. The Vikings had a good team. The weakest link on the offense was the quarterback.

  • Turnovers those 2 years killed us.

  • Swkira how can you say Culpepper was the weak link on those Viking teams in '01 and '02???????

  • Because in 2002 more NFL teams had less turnovers than Culpepper had alone. And, our backup QB came in during 2001 and almost brought us back against the Steelers, and then the next week we routed the Titains. You have to look at how the backups have played during the Culpepper era. Moss made them great too.
