  • I'm an American, and the way this country is going, I am ashamed of the fact. I really wonder what happened to the country that was taught to us as the "best" country and the land of the free when a certain political party has to worry about whether they're going to die for what they believe in. We are no longer Americans. I don't even know what to call ourselves anymore...

  • this poor woman. as soon as we pass the healthcare reform please get this woman to a doctor. she bumped her head.

  • I've never heard claims like that then from people who adamantly oppose government health care, I'll have to look into that more later.

And it's up to the people to decide if we want to change a large part of government, we don't have to stick just to what the constitution says.

  • "We don't have to stick to just what the Constitution says" The purpose of The Constitution is to protect an individuals Rights from being trampled by the Government and other people. The Rights of the American people are not given to them by the Government and cannot be taken away by the Government.

I do hope you are not arguing the Democrat belief that if they just get enough people to vote for it they can trample anyones Rights they want.

    That's called Mob Rule.

  • Yeah right, I dare you to show me how public option would trample on your rights. I want my government to make health care reasonably affordable, and if you don't, screw you, you're just a tool being used by insurance companies.

  • Federal Government has no authority to force me or anyone else to buy anything.

  • Public option is an alternative to health insurance, no one is going to stop you from wasting your money on insurance companies.

  • If I choose to not have insurance that is my choice. The Federal Government has no authority to fine me for not buying into their plan.

  • Where can I read the actual bill? I need to read that before I can take your claim seriously.

  • Youtube won't let me post the link. I'll send you a private message.

  • I added it as a comment on your page.

  • are you not required to have auto insurance???? I'm not sure, I'm Canadian and I find this absolutely hilarious that there are that many dumb c*nts in the states that would rather keep padding insurance companies pockets while down the road when they need those companies the most they'll get some half-assed answer as to why they will no longer pay for that chemo thing that you need because you're too much of a burden on the companies bank account. Americans grow up and show some compassion.

  • try telling that to your "elected"officials that keep coming down here to the states for their medical care.

  • @thefopper Everyone wants affordable healthcare, this Bill isn't it. See recent HMO stocks increase since finding out this bill might pass. 21% cut to doctors who take medicaire when already it isn't enough. Great in 4 years of paying a tax you might be able to find a doctor who takes medicaire. Forcing people to buy Insurance and saying it is constitutional is another slander for rule of law. Our government is run by Tyrants at present.

  • @PrplPplEatr ........No one can compete with government, they make the rules. Health care will not be reasonably affordable. Mass. has a program similar to the proposed plan and they have the highest premiums in the nation. They are taxing us for 10 years, but the bill doesn't kick in until 4 years later so they can say it pays it's way. Deceitful tactics! The bill states the gov will dictate heathcare decisions. Medicare is now 36 Trill ion in debt and they want to add another program?

  • Public option shouldn't increase government spending, it's only health insurance run by our government, I also feel I should mention Germany has a very similar health care system to the proposed Public option, and it works well.

  • @PrplPplEatr The constitution was created to protect YOU from a government that would conflict with your rights as an individual. Once you put a small portion of the population in control of the majority and do not hold them accountable to laws they swore an oath to uphold such as the Constitution it soon leads to a dictatorship. Where you are not important as an individual if it conflicts with the greater good as they see it!

  • Canada holds lotteries, the winner getting to see a Doctor. "Ya I won the Lottery, I can see a Doctor!!

If that patient is a woaman who sees her government Dr. and finds she has breast cancer she gets no treatment, nothing. She goes on a waiting list and prays she lives until it's her turn and that the government hasn't met their Quota for cancer patients.

Even if she can pay for the treatment if the Dr. gives it to her both she and the Doctor can go to jail.

    Nice "downfall"

  • So what? I no one ever said it was perfect, it still manages to treat more people and screw over less people than the American health care system.

Socialized health care works better than a monopolized health care, that's why I support it.

  • My God! You are so HORRIBLY ill-informed that it would be laughable if it weren't so scary.

  • It's not just that the "free" health care supporters are wrong they are motivated by nothing but greed. All they want is for other people to pay for their bills because they are "entitled".

They talk endlessly about how much profit insurance companies make. Here's a thought, if you don't like insurance companies then stop buying their product you morons.

Nobody ever forces you to buy health insurance, unlike your single payer plan that does force people into a plan they do not want.

  • @independentview1 - Other people are already paying for the bills of the uninsured. When uninsured people go to the emergency room and can't afford $27,000 for a broken arm where do you think the money comes from? It comes from you.

  • Oh yeah, the don't get hurt health care plan, just don't get sick or you're screwed!

Face it, the health care industry is a monopoly that is failing patients, there is no reasonable alternative to it if you need help, other than second rate care, bankruptcy, and/or malpractice.

Lets make firefighters private to, that way you won't have to waste your oh-so precious money to save lives. And ironically, socialized health care would be much cheaper for everyone.

  • Most fire departments are volunteer based.

Hospitals can't turn away an injured person, it's called "illegal"

Socialized is cheaper because they ration care, as in they just say no you can't have that operation even if you can pay for it so go home and die. Look to Canada and England for examples.

Then there is the Liberal tax proposed today. Pay for government health care or get a $25,000 fine and go to jail for a year. Put the poor and unemployed in jail, Oh the Hope and Change.

  • We should look to Canada and Britain, granted it has downfalls but the people there like their health care because it actually treats them.

Fire departments, libraries, and police departments are all provided for by the government, and health care is just as necessary.

And hospitals won't treat anyone without proof of insurance or signing over your house and car in case you can't afford payments.

We can see in Europe socialized medicine works better, so why not put people over profits?

  • Of course their is that nagging fact that Fire &, Police & that local Library are all Constitutional.

I have never been fined up to $25,000 and put in prison for a year if I don't visit the Library.

So according to the current Liberal bill if a person loses their job or just can't afford to pay the Democrat imposed Health "fine" we thrown them in jail and slap them with more fines.

Is this that Hope and Change Obama spoke of, jailing the poor & middleclass.
