The worse part that the general manager Stand browman in the Blackhawks says: The temperment is a part of his playstyle and what makes him good, we wont work against his temperment.
And they said he prolly wont get any sort of punishment for this, Mathis Olimb got his should dislocated and gonna have surgery and prolly wont be back in the game before November.

If it had been a normal match, i wouldnt really have raised my eyebrows as fighting in hockey is far from uncommon. Here however, it is a training match, in training camp no less, and injuring a potential future teammate is bad no matter what spin one tries to put on it. Seeing how aggressively Beach went after Olimb for most of the game, i view the injury as more deliberate than accidental. Very unfortunate for Olimb who wont be playing for 6 months :/

Seriousely.. I dont know a lot about Hockey AND im norwegian.But still, if you pause at the very start of the clip and go back and forth 1 sec in the clip, watch Olimb's stance.. If you ask me, Olimb's about to shove his Elbow into the other guys face, but he interupts him... Just watch from 0:00-0:01 over and over again, watch Olimbs feet and elbow, it looks like hes trying to attack first.. i might nbe wrong =)

Sadly this is the reality of hockey, prospect camps are like boot camp and it`s there to seperate the bulls from the bears.. It looks like this Beach is there to ruff things up and he`s got the physic to do just that.
Now, any mildly mannered person is ofcourse rather disgusted bysuch aspects of this wrestling on ice sport. So unless you`re a facist gorilla you should look for joys in other sports.

They're both prospects still. Never once have they played on the same team, meaning they actually aren't teammates. They're both competing for a spot on the Hawks.. no matter what it takes. Beach did what he has done during his career in Spokane to prove he can make it.. plus he indicates he was speared by Olimb as he skates away. What a idiot, that Olimb! Spearing his own teammate! Throw him off the team!

But then again, injuring players who are threatening your spot on the team is probably ok in NHL standards. I thought you had to play good hockey to earn a spot on a team. That's at least the way it works in the rest of the world...

@metalhockey Normally when you spear someone you're trying to hurt them. Why do you think a spearing penalty is a five minute major and a game misconduct while a fight i only a major?
Beach spun Olimb to the ice, Olimb fell awkwardly on his shoulder which injured him. It's the 2nd weakest joint in the human body for a reason... it doesn't take much to seperate it.
Look at it how you will, but I'd rather someome try to fight me than spear me in the gut with the buttend of his stick.
