what would you say are the best breaks to scratch to? I notice you use a lot of Jazzy stuff and that seems to work well. I like to use this Quasimoto 12 inch I have but the beats can be kind of overpowering lol.
@TheAnonymousAnomie hey the ones you love best! Old funky breaks and hip hop beats work well for me, but stuff with space so you can fit in the scratches without it sounding too messy are things I bear in mind.
@JeffAngel100 hey thats the chirp scratch. Check out the tutorial I created for it only my channel. I think thats the scratch you mean. If not, then its the crab scratch also check the tutorial for it. Thanks!
@controllerismdj hello, I call it the Short-e special scratch. search my videos for a breakdown! and be sure to check out the main site, i just opened my new members site that teaches week by week.
Unbelievable scratching. Massively impressed. It's not often you see DJ's trying scratching like this and consistently pulling off every single scratch, even each triplet of the crab scratch, perfectly in time. I notice you've got your cross fader reversed - would you recommend all DJ's do that if they wanna get this good at scratching?
@doymon hey no reverse isn't necessary at all you can learn either way. I just prefer it. Bonus I can teach it that way in my video tutorials. - Short-E
@kingkevboi67 mixer and record both online somewhere but I cant honestly remember the exact place. Could have been hard to find records. This was a promo vid for No Rival clothing who are one of my sponsors - Short-E
@kingkevboi67 both my hands are good! I'm right handed and use that on the fader. some use their strong hand on the record and some on the crossfader. Do what feels best for you.
damn short -e you skillz are amazing. nice flow and many different scratch tricks. is this the famous record from q-bert? i dont remember the name of it...
@zpot420 thanks! you can just loads of practice. I have a series of tutorials and how to scratch section on the studio scratches website if you check it out I am sure it will help! thanks for checking this video!
DJ Short-E is actually Zoey from the highly popular video game "Left 4 Dead" and she been DJ'ing since BEFORE meeting Francis, Bill, Louis and the zombie apocalypse.
You see, she learned to handle weapons/firearms the day a zombie destroyed her prized turntable and vinyl records, she beasted on them and been killing zombies ever since.
@studioscratches hey you got skills dude, gotta give the credit where it belongs, love to see more stuff. do you have any battle routines or just straight up scratch sessions?
@B6Quattro hey thankyou! theres loads more videos on this channel. look for "no rival short-e" i dont battle or do routines as such, more of a freestyle scratch DJ. thanks for your interest! - Short-e
@studioscratches no problem if you ever want to check out a different style of freestyle send me a message and i'll shoot you a link maybe you can critique it too.
@PABLIXXXI hey i dont know the official name its like a stab forwards with a 2 part tear back. I have a hamster tutorial for it look for "short-e special scratch" Just reverse the fader but the principle is the same.
Watching this is giving me the urge to go out and get another set if decks. What track is playing in this by the way? Thanks in advance. Ross. P.S. You are pretty awesome :-D

@Ruudybeats801 not sure what you mean by sample - you can scratch one on each deck.
studioscratches 2 months ago
@studioscratches like scratch bolth at a time and still have it sound good
Ruudybeats801 2 months ago
@Ruudybeats801 you could but you wouldn't be able to use the crossfader as both your hands would be on the record. Most people scratch on one side.
