Versus XIII and Type-0 take place in completely different universes. Just because each XIII game uses the same mythology doesn't mean that Etro will be dead from now on in the other games. What happens in FFXIII and FFXIII-2 has no effect on what happens in Versus XIII or Type-0.

Wow, I love Final Fantasy. This game was very linear but it still had a bit of the magic that Final Fantasy gives. I think XIII-2 is better because it's improved in a lot of ways but the videos in this game are awesome. We are going to see FFX in these graphics? I dunno how some people are bashing Square when they give us a lot more then people realise.

Based on some of the reviews and comments I guess I shouldn't touch FFXIII-2 if I'm somewhat content with the ending to the first? I really like this game's plot and ending even, though I think it's not one that I'd play again since the gameplay itself is a bit lackluster.

I dont understand why they had to make XIII-2, because they gave it such a horrible ending. Look at how happy everyone is here- all of their problems solved. And thin look at the crappy ending of XIII-2. The main character abruptly dies, and even with the paradox endings, no problems are solved. They just advance. This was probably my least favorite Final Fantasy game. Then again, my favorites were VII and X, X being my absolute favorite. Had a fantastic story, gameplay, and just everything about it was amazing. This story was decent, but I hated the gameplay compared to X. That's just my opinion though. @narutojoekillu well I'd say XIII had the better story and characters, it also required more strategy, the synergist and saboteur roles are pretty useless in XIII-2. From a purely gameplay perspective XIII-2 is better as it's not as linear, I'd say it's worth getting but I'd also say I liked XIII better.
@MewMintAMMLS it isnt the song thats really bad but the moment they use it in just makes it seem kinda strange to play a love song during one specific moment in the true ending.

It's a great ending.. Too bad the game overall was a bit of a flop. A lot of people on these comments are like "FUCK ALL YOU HATERS! YOU DONT KNOW WHAT A GOOD GAME IS!" and whatnot but in reality.. I think the people who find this game to be incredible are the people who never truly experienced the older FF games and thus can't compare it like many others can and why most people find the game a flop. Games like FF Tactics, 4, 6, 7, 8, & 10 (My personal favorites). But that's just my opinion.
I don't know about that. I've been playing sense ff 3 for the snes and I must say... 13 was an amazing addition. Great story and battle system. Fantastic character development and one of the best ff endings in the series. It's all subjective I suppose because I notice you put 10 in your favorites. I thought that game was Square's biggest crime against the series. I think it's all about your personal experience the first time you play.
10 was amazing storywise. It just depends on your personal views. As a whole Square has had an incredible consistency with the quality of their main works. The biggest disappointments in my eyes are probably the MMO's. They just didn't hold the Final Fantasy spirit about them.
Fuck the haters. This game ended PERFECTLY and BEAUTIFULLY. Sure, it had many flaws, but I had fun playing it, and this ending sequence made it all SOOO worth it for me.
@SummonTank Try going outside once in a while; barring that, try playing the game, and not doing a breakneck rush to the end. I've been playing the game over 20 hours and I'm only a couple chapters in so far, and loving every minute of it.

This is probably one of the best final fantasy endings I've ever seen and beat. It was very emotional and almost tearful! I mean after spending all those countless hours trying to beat the game, I honestly feel like I was with them experiencing their plight in their world, every step of the way! This ending really just captivates me beyond all immigration.

It's about the past being messed up and things happening differently, and serah and noel trying to revert things to how they were. In other words, it makes sense that it didn't happen this way. whoever explained that to you, either didn't understand at all themselves, or didn't explain it in full detal. so no, it's not messed up at all

That's how Serah remembers it, but someone pulled Lightning out of the timeline as we know it, and the only explanation anyone can come up with, given their limited information, is that she's asleep in the crystal with Vanille and Fang. Serah is the only one who remembers things the -right- way.

The story for this one is incredibly strong, and people complain about the linearity but it HAS to be because they are basically fugitives on the run. There can't be any villages to explore....Having beaten every numbered Final Fantasy I think this (and its sequel which just beat a few days ago) are really great, strong games

@14daggers nvm, after further observation I think I've figured it out..from the looks of it, it seems that Vanille and Fang fused together along with all of the monsters to become the ultimate Regnarok, powerful enough to save cacoon instead of destroying it. Being that Vanille and Fang were Ragnarok along with the L'Cie, Ragnarok definately took positive influence..which was to save Cacoon.
Funny seeing all the "I can't beat it" comments. Not trying to troll here I swear I just thought that it was probably the easiest FF boss ever. Maybe ya'll need to work on your strategy and "level" up your characters more -.-
@MissMandiErotica It is funny seeing people complain about games being too hard nowadays. Gamers have grown accustom to eye candy and unlimited ammo. Games are a joke in this day and age. While there's no need to level up characters in FF13, it does require one to think and it does require a strategy (although Libra'ing everything tells you everything you need to know making the game ezmoad). I quit using Libra on my first play through FF13 because it made the game too easy.

Fantastic character development and one of the best ff endings in the series. It's all subjective I suppose because I notice you put 10 in your favorites. I thought that game was Square's biggest crime against the series. I think it's all about your personal experience the first time you play.

10 was amazing storywise. It just depends on your personal views. As a whole Square has had an incredible consistency with the quality of their main works. The biggest disappointments in my eyes are probably the MMO's. They just didn't hold the Final Fantasy spirit about them.

@SummonTank Try going outside once in a while; barring that, try playing the game, and not doing a breakneck rush to the end. I've been playing the game over 20 hours and I'm only a couple chapters in so far, and loving every minute of it.

This is probably one of the best final fantasy endings I've ever seen and beat. It was very emotional and almost tearful! I mean after spending all those countless hours trying to beat the game, I honestly feel like I was with them experiencing their plight in their world, every step of the way! This ending really just captivates me beyond all immigration.

@GameGuysProjects yeah, the reason it didn't happen this way, is because 13-2 is all about time paradoxes. It's about the past being messed up and things happening differently, and serah and noel trying to revert things to how they were. In other words, it makes sense that it didn't happen this way. whoever explained that to you, either didn't understand at all themselves, or didn't explain it in full detal. so no, it's not messed up at all

That's how Serah remembers it, but someone pulled Lightning out of the timeline as we know it, and the only explanation anyone can come up with, given their limited information, is that she's asleep in the crystal with Vanille and Fang. Serah is the only one who remembers things the -right- way.

The story for this one is incredibly strong, and people complain about the linearity but it HAS to be because they are basically fugitives on the run. There can't be any villages to explore....Having beaten every numbered Final Fantasy I think this (and its sequel which just beat a few days ago) are really great, strong games

@14daggers nvm, after further observation I think I've figured it out..from the looks of it, it seems that Vanille and Fang fused together along with all of the monsters to become the ultimate Regnarok, powerful enough to save cacoon instead of destroying it. Being that Vanille and Fang were Ragnarok along with the L'Cie, Ragnarok definately took positive influence..which was to save Cacoon.

@MissMandiErotica It is funny seeing people complain about games being too hard nowadays. Gamers have grown accustom to eye candy and unlimited ammo. Games are a joke in this day and age. While there's no need to level up characters in FF13, it does require one to think and it does require a strategy (although Libra'ing everything tells you everything you need to know making the game ezmoad). I quit using Libra on my first play through FF13 because it made the game too easy.
