Out of interest can you use a steelhead style slinky weight for this technique on particularly snaggy ground? I fish in a spot thats great for big bass but its also basically nothing but snags
This guy is absolutely right. The Palomar knot is FINE for this technique.
You've gotta ask yourself... Was the strange weirdo knot that Aaron Martens used in the 2005 classic a good knot? He did break off multiple 1 1/2 lbers!!!!!!!!!
I really like to say that I found every bit of your information helpful. It is almost too much information to retain and remember. So I downloaded your videos to my computer and am going to put them on my mp3 player. I wish you had more videos because I love to fish and have been for years, now, I am trying to master my craft. This video is very intuitive for people who are not extremley knowedgable. Thanks for the educated help. AWash
@1996catfish The nice thing about an actual drop shot sinker is that if you get hung up in rocks or brush, the sinker can just pull off of the line because it isnt tied on. Then you can just replace the sinker and get back to fishing. With a traditional sinker thats tied on, you will break a lot of sinkers and line off. And maybe even your hook and bait.
@oceanwaves83 : Hi... Unfortunately YouTube has a 10-minute video length maximum. We'd love to provide the entire video but it is out of our control. Thanks for watching!
This video would be great if it did not cut out the way it does. maybe post a second video showing us they way you do it and how to work the set up ???????
ok it would have been great if it didnt cut out and how do you do yours because that is where you cut out and where does the weight go iam wanting to learn i just have started fishing
what if i used different line because i want to try this technique out. if i don't like this technique, i don't want to waste my time with changing lines
Moggar, for my more finnesse techniques i use flourocarbon. if you like the stretch you can use monofilament. It's what ever you prefer. You might like flouro better for other techniquest too.
i saw ur vid. i was wondering... where can i find out more about the yamamato worms and the people who make them?
also i suggest that you keep making videos like this, it helped me a lot:)

Youtube USED to have a 10 minute limit, but they don't any longer. You guys should upload a fresh full length version. Great instruction though.

@hemna Click on "Upload" at the top of the screen here... What does it say as requirements? "Up to ten minutes of video"...

Love the sight. The article on different lines for different situations alone is worth a visit.

I'd just like to say that cutting out the video made me 100 times less likely to visit your website. I guarantee I'm not the only one.
And I agree, there's NOTHING wrong with rigging a dropshot worm correctly in the traditional manner you described.
