Connerly has been pushing bills to prohibit PREFERENCES on race, gender, etc. in admissions, hiring, etc. for state-funded programs.

You can use whatever definition of "affirmative action" you like (She uses the original definition, as first used by JFK. This definition was later altered by LBJ.). But Connerly's initiatives do not address "affirmative action," but only discrimination by the state.

Without affirmative action blacks would have to compete with whites. This would not be fair for blacks are not a very intelligent race. you would not expect a retarded person to compete on a level base with normal people would you?
