  • my acer laptop was on with plenty of life in the battery and power cord plug in. then it just all went dead. and now wont turn on. power plug light still comes on but goes out when i connect it to laptop. any tips?

  • are there specific jack docks that I need to buy for my acer laptop?

or are they all the same?

  • @haroldflores1 You need to look up your model number. try searching ebay for "your model number" power jack

  • its nice to know that i can fix a loose power jack. my power jack isnt broken but its loose and i have to wiggle the jack to get the charge to kick in.

  • @mjmcomputers I have an Acer 5335, it has 50% battery left but it wont charge but the charger lights up.

  • @secondlifeundergroun If you remove the battery will it run off the ac adapter, or does it die?

  • My acer aspire 4720Z won't charge and it's burning the charger tips. Do you think replacing the jack would help or do I need a new battery?

  • @KakashiFrk hard to say, most likely the jack. Does the battery still hold a good charge? Does it still burn the tips if you leave the battery out?

  • i need to replace my headphone jack on my acer 5315,how do i do this?

  • @johnmorph78 it would be similar to replacing the power jack. remove the motherboard and unsolder the old one then solder the new one. May have to remove the old one to be able to find a replacement.

  • @mjmcomputers

I was watching another video on youtube about soldering these jacks and he said he used superglue to help reinforce it since the solder might not be strong enough for the jack. does this sound like a good idea?

  • the acer company probably barely tightens the dc power jack because this same problem occured in both of my acers : 2480 travel mate

    and a 5735 aspire

  • @tinygangster66 They need to be glued down as well as soldered. The solder joints can't handle the stress from bumping the cord around while plugged in.

  • 3 days to say 2 words...

  • please , yo can tellme the name model of the MOTHER BOARD (im speak in spanish , my english is bad) , please , thanks

  • From where did you buy the power jack?

  • @spinspermy ebay

  • Hey, you seem like an informed guy. I have a d250 AAO netbook. The headphone jack will play low and high tones but not midrange ones... like talking, or the average singer. The builtin speakers work fine. I assume it's a capacitor issue or something with the jack. Is there a way to fix this, or am I just fucked? I assume it would be a soldering job, but I have no idea where to get a replacement jack.

  • @NDanteDouglas If the headphones produce sound out of both sides I doubt there is a problem with the jack. Sounds more like a settings or driver issue. When you have your headphones hooked up you can go into control panel then sound and audio then go to the audio tab and go to advanced. Change the speaker settings.

  • @mjmcomputers I would agree, but I've tested this with Windows, Ubuntu, Puppy, and Backtrack and the issue shows up in each OS. Any ideas?

  • @NDanteDouglas I really don't think capacitors could cause the problem. Its probably some small surface mount component on the sound card portion of the motherboard or there may be a small circuit board for the headphone jack.

  • Please Help My Acer Aspire Says:

    Media test failure, check cable

    Operating system not found

Please Please Help Me Out.! Reply to this Comment and Please Tell Me What Do I Do Now

    Thank You.

  • @striker543211 Sounds like your hard drive died or ypu lost the windows partition. Try putting in your restore CDs and see if they work. If the hard drive is dead, you will need to replace it.

  • @mjmcomputers Thank You So Much Man.!!!

  • what is the problem in may acer travelmate 3260, theres no sound output if i using headphone, but they have sound in there own speaker? can u healp me? tnx

  • @aldwinot Could be a faulty headphone jack, when you plug in the headphones do the internal speakers stop working?

  • i hvae a problem i took out the ram and put it back on and its not working doesnt show anything any help

  • Did it work before you took out the ram? Do any light come on? Have you removed the battery and put it back in?

  • You may have a virus, download malwarebytes anti-malware and run a scan. Also try ccleaner to cleanup temp files.
