Honestly, I think that old handbags are much much nicer than the "new" designs. Cause all modern designers are trying to "think outside the box" which makes their designs a fail. So, I always try to look for a design that's been going for a long time =D

Thank you for the comment. I really appreciate that. It's something that everyone needs to think of...I personally don't really do the designer handbag very much anymore and even plan to sell my BMW to get a hybrid. I won't lie and say I was never materialistic and so concerned about status because I used to be that way. But especially after my cousin/best friend was diagnosed w/breast cancer over a year ago, I can honestly say I don't care about my "stuff". I'd trade it all for a cure.

Firstly, I hope your cousin comes through her breast cancer ordeal with a full recovery! Both my mother and sister had cancer issues this year and thankfully, both are cancer-free and well. It really does put life into perspective thats for sure. I was no different than alot of my friends when it came to having the best there was in all that there is. Weare 'programmed' to believe that that is whats important and that is what defines and or values us in society. We are much more than that. :-)

My point is, the GLAMOURIZATION of a handbag as being an pbject to 'aspire' to having, is distracting the young and the mature people alike from where and what we should aspire to. It isn't just fashion being used to 'fog' our brains either. There's body-image focusing, tabloid-celebrity focusing and permissive-sexual imaging to name just a few. 'Looking after yourself, is not a new handbag'.
