Either that's a really small star (unlikely because they need to be pretty big) or that planet is HUGE, large as Jupiter or more. So this animation isn't very realistic. And if the planet was that large, and that close it would be like Mercury: really hot, cloudy and gassy, with very high gravity.
Truthfully, I think there's some cognitive reason that humans believe in god. I don't know much about psychology so I really can't say, however I personally think it's the biggest mass delusion. But then again, who am I to say what people should or should not believe?

I've read that at the centre of the Milky Way Galaxy is a large black hole. Also, the Andromeda (sp?) galaxy is 12X larger than previously believed to be.

I can't say for sure if there's a god or not. It would be very arrogant and self important for me to say with any certainty. But I don't think there is one. But yes, I know all about cellular function. I'm a bioengineering major and it's what I do. There is no need for a creator. All cellular processes are biological in its nature and are directed by genes which are passed down from generations. It all started with a single cell about a billion years ago. Trust me, this doesn't need a creator.

Trust me, there are MANY flaws in the human body. More than you know. And no, none of this is proof. Yes, I agree the body and DNA mechanism is amazing, but that does not point to any god whatsoever. The Sun is just one star out of hundreds of billions of stars (maybe almost a trillion) in the Milky Way. The Milky way is one galaxy out of more than 400 billion in the known universe.

The universe is so humungous that life probably exists in areas of the universe that we can't even see with our most powerful instruments. I don't believe we've ever been visited by extraterrestial life because the distances involved would mean travel would have to be many times greater than the speed of light. a theory is not just a guess. its a testable model that works over and over and stands up to the scrutiny of almost the entire scientific community. universal gravitation is still a theory too, that doesn't mean its not also fact. and the formation of celestial bodies is easily possible under the laws of physics. mass clumps together due to gravity. the force makes it round.
and then the spheres get near the gravity of another object, and their inertia makes them spin around it, unable to escape the gravity. the illusion of organization comes from the same thing happening in different places and scales.
just because life is rare in our galaxy does not mean we are the only ones. of course no one is going to contact us yet. we would look like cavemen compared to any species capable of getting here from where they came from, and even if less advanced species sent radio waves toward us, they might take thousands of years to get here. i doubt any species would want to mess up our development, either. maybe once we become much less violent and stop killing each other someone will contact us.
and you are still grossly simplifying the scientific theories that you are talking about. explosions dont cause life when there is already life to get ripped apart by it, but when the explosion is spreading mass throughout the universe that will eventually form conditions for life, it can cause it. the illusion of design comes from everything obeying the laws of physics. if something works in one place, it will work the same everywhere else in the universe.
and then you take human nature as evidence for a creator. just because we have developed to like food, because we need it to survive, we like mating, because thats what makes the race continue, and so on. after billions of years of practical trial and error, we have evolved in to a complex organism, that feels certain ways because it helped us survive in the past when those that did not have it died out.

i think you need to read my posts again. a theory is a guess thats testable and possible, and most scientists around the world accept it. there is not a lot that we can prove right now at all, most things in science are theories. but a theory is not just some guess some scientist made up. just because something has not been absolutely proven does not mean its not fact, if that were true you would be a single celled amoeba floating around in space.

i "believe" (you might want to look this up) that this "continuous cycle" theory you speak of has recently been disproven; for Entropy cannot be reversed (reversal of the big bang for instance). So, the Universe can only expand and expand and expand, it cannot reverse itself under any circumstance....at least that is what my physicist girlfriend told me.

If they are complex lifeforms then you'd assume they have legs. Afterall despite all the innumerable species on this planet that live on land - most have legs or once had (snakes) and lost them. the planets currently found are not candidates, infact we havent even seen them we can just detect they are there by wobbleing of the star caused by a a lagranged point of gravity, only planets detected this way are planets of Extreamly large mass, its pure gusstamation as to what the planets Mass/elemental compound/and orbit are based on what limited info we can get from the wobble and light blocked by orbital passes,
it is not necessarily due to an extra solar planet being of an extremely large mass, more like a certain proportion of mass in relation to the host star.

Either that's a really small star (unlikely because they need to be pretty big) or that planet is HUGE, large as Jupiter or more. So this animation isn't very realistic. And if the planet was that large, and that close it would be like Mercury: really hot, cloudy and gassy, with very high gravity.

I can't say for sure if there's a god or not. It would be very arrogant and self important for me to say with any certainty. But I don't think there is one. But yes, I know all about cellular function. I'm a bioengineering major and it's what I do. There is no need for a creator. All cellular processes are biological in its nature and are directed by genes which are passed down from generations. It all started with a single cell about a billion years ago. Trust me, this doesn't need a creator.

Trust me, there are MANY flaws in the human body. More than you know. And no, none of this is proof. Yes, I agree the body and DNA mechanism is amazing, but that does not point to any god whatsoever. It's in the nature of molecules to be able to form proteins which can self replicate. If you were to study this in detail, you'd realize it makes a lot of sense and it's silly to say "goddidit". There's background radiation that scientists can detect from the big bang blast. Most of the galaxies we can see are moving apart from one another as they were dispursed from the initial blast.

I don't believe we've ever been visited by extraterrestial life because the distances involved would mean travel would have to be many times greater than the speed of light. a theory is not just a guess. its a testable model that works over and over and stands up to the scrutiny of almost the entire scientific community. universal gravitation is still a theory too, that doesn't mean its not also fact. and the formation of celestial bodies is easily possible under the laws of physics. mass clumps together due to gravity. the force makes it round.

just because life is rare in our galaxy does not mean we are the only ones. of course no one is going to contact us yet. we would look like cavemen compared to any species capable of getting here from where they came from, and even if less advanced species sent radio waves toward us, they might take thousands of years to get here. i doubt any species would want to mess up our development, either. maybe once we become much less violent and stop killing each other someone will contact us.

and you are still grossly simplifying the scientific theories that you are talking about. explosions dont cause life when there is already life to get ripped apart by it, but when the explosion is spreading mass throughout the universe that will eventually form conditions for life, it can cause it. the illusion of design comes from everything obeying the laws of physics. if something works in one place, it will work the same everywhere else in the universe.

and then you take human nature as evidence for a creator. just because we have developed to like food, because we need it to survive, we like mating, because thats what makes the race continue, and so on. after billions of years of practical trial and error, we have evolved in to a complex organism, that feels certain ways because it helped us survive in the past when those that did not have it died out.

The Big Bang test failed to prove anything, which is why it is still called a theory. When a theory is finally proven, it becomes a "law" of science. something proven to be true and which is undisputable is called a law. i think you need to read my posts again. a theory is a guess thats testable and possible, and most scientists around the world accept it. there is not a lot that we can prove right now at all, most things in science are theories. but a theory is not just some guess some scientist made up. just because something has not been absolutely proven does not mean its not fact, if that were true you would be a single celled amoeba floating around in space.

i "believe" (you might want to look this up) that this "continuous cycle" theory you speak of has recently been disproven; for Entropy cannot be reversed (reversal of the big bang for instance). So, the Universe can only expand and expand and expand, it cannot reverse itself under any circumstance....at least that is what my physicist girlfriend told me.

If they are complex lifeforms then you'd assume they have legs. Afterall despite all the innumerable species on this planet that live on land - most have legs or once had (snakes) and lost them. So somethings here would be applicable in their world. As not many species developed wheels to get around. This is how science guesstimates what life on other worlds may have. Kinda cool way to think.

the planets currently found are not candidates, infact we havent even seen them we can just detect they are there by wobbleing of the star caused by a a lagranged point of gravity, only planets detected this way are planets of Extreamly large mass, its pure gusstamation as to what the planets Mass/elemental compound/and orbit are based on what limited info we can get from the wobble and light blocked by orbital passes,

Good point. I think you have to keep you own home healthy too. I saw a vid on Mars where everyone was clamoring to see the day Mars is terraformed for habitation. I couldnt help to think we should "terraform" Earth back into what it was before we became too numberable for our own good. Afterall...its not like we have another home to go to.

well lets see... They are about 100 trillion galaxies (guessing) 100 trillion is about 100,000,000,000,000. They are about 45 billion stars in each galaxy taking that up to: 4,500,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars, all of those stars have planets: 45,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 planets. One of them has to have life like us right?
