it doesn't matter what ps3 you get, the 120 and 250 gb ps3 both use 1080p graphics

when i use a ps3 slim game on a normal ps3, i have to update my ps3 so it could work like the slim

the game freezes alot because of it's high resolution at least that's what the game seller told me... he recommended playing the game using a flat LCD screen and using HDD cables (special cables wtv... not sure what its called). I havent bought the game tho... but im starting to doubt... i hope this advice helps, better this than nothing rite?

only one way to fix it format ur hard-drive tho if u do u will lose everything on ur hard-drive when u reformat reset to factory defaults everything should be fine unless its the disc itself

So you blame that on rockstar. It's definitely not their fault or everyone would be having this problem. Did you try cleaning the disk? Maybe deleting your game save for the game? If that stuff doesn't work go and exchange the game for another copy. If it still doesn't work, contact sony, you've got a bad ps3.
