Then there's the whole notion of "recruiting" children. Had anyone ever wondered why those children were there to begin with? They were there because their parents, who made them, were physically, mentally or behaviorally unable to properly take care of their children. Orphans are oftentimes proof that some heterosexual families are not sufficient to take care of a child, even if that family previously filled the "ideal" family setup. And now people want to take the chance of a family away?
The problem I have with the "can't reproduce" argument is that homosexuals can reproduce. They can still function and they can still impregnate someone or get impregnated. The fact is that no love would come out of whatever sexual acts with the opposite sex are needed to continue the human race if homosexuals need to. I was touched by your post. This is exactly why it is ok to have gay marriage at least mentioned in school. When I was a child in the 60's and new I had "different" feeling than the other kids there was nothing to associate my feeling to and consequently I felt very alone and confused. I wish I had had something to associate my feelings to and to have known that gay marriage was a possiblity would have meant the world. Believe it or not there are gay children out there.
When I grew up I thought I was the 1 in a million oddball failure, alone on the planet. It was an incredible relief for me to find that there are other people who were in a similar situation.

No lawyer would ever take such a case because it says specifically in the CA SupremeCourt decision in May last year that under the First Amendment of the U.S. constitution, no church could ever be sued for not marrying unions they do not recognize. Then there's the whole notion of "recruiting" children. Had anyone ever wondered why those children were there to begin with? They were there because their parents, who made them, were physically, mentally or behaviorally unable to properly take care of their children. Orphans are oftentimes proof that some heterosexual families are not sufficient to take care of a child, even if that family previously filled the "ideal" family setup. And now people want to take the chance of a family away?

The problem I have with the "can't reproduce" argument is that homosexuals can reproduce. They can still function and they can still impregnate someone or get impregnated. The fact is that no love would come out of whatever sexual acts with the opposite sex are needed to continue the human race if homosexuals need to. I was touched by your post. This is exactly why it is ok to have gay marriage at least mentioned in school. When I was a child in the 60's and new I had "different" feeling than the other kids there was nothing to associate my feeling to and consequently I felt very alone and confused. I wish I had had something to associate my feelings to and to have known that gay marriage was a possiblity would have meant the world. Believe it or not there are gay children out there.

No lawyer would ever take such a case because it says specifically in the CA SupremeCourt decision in May last year that under the First Amendment of the U.S. constitution, no church could ever be sued for not marrying unions they do not recognize. This includes gay couples, divorced people, etc. It has always been this way.

All the shows I watched on TV showed straight people (I Love Lucy, Andy Griffith Show, The Waltons, Knight Rider, Miami Vice, The A-Team, Gilligan's Island, Sesame Street, Electric Company, etc., etc.) no "gay" role models in these shows. Prop 8 passing (and in CA, no less!) is definitely a shocker, but everybody keep fighting the good fight.
If last night's victory speech by Obama proves ANYTHING, it's that those who soldier on against the odds to overturn the ignorant and hate-filled jackasses of society will prevail, eventually.

Whats odd is how all the polls had No at at least 4 percent ahead. For it to be at 5% lead for Yes seems a little odd. Perhaps a recount is in order. Or a protest.

...This makes me sick. No joke. The "Yes" campaign saying this rally was a 'success' is DISGUISTING. Gays and lesbians are NOT trying to recruit children. Whoever thinks that ought to have THEIR rights to marry stripped from them. Maybe then they'll get some common sense!

If this guy is a Christian, somebody should tell him that his own religion says that he will go to Hell for lying.
Before the fourth century, Rome persecuted Christians for the following reasons:
1) Christians angered the gods.
2) Christians were responsible for all the plagues that attacked Rome.
3) Christians were destroying Roman families.
4) Christians corrupted Roman children.
These days, simply replace "Christians" with "gays" and "Romans" with "Christians"

The words by this spokesperson are absolutely ridiculous. Not far from that other spokesperson who outrageously compared gays to Hitler! How could 44% of Californians buy into the underlying position these people advocate (I'm using the latest poll numbers)?
Californians who are among those 44% have lots to learn. Who's gonna start the teaching process? How about starting in the churches and synagogues? The schools would be a great place, but I realize that that's a hot button of its own.

Oh, puh-leeze. Every gay person out there knows that their sexuality was not a free choice. To imply that gays are trying to 'recruit your kids' is ridiculous! Sexuality is predetermined--trying to 'recruit' people into that lifestyle would be a waste of time!
