Hard to believe that she only practised on public rinks! I mean - wow - only in public sessions?! Denise Beliman, Natalie Krieg, Lucinda Ruh, Stephane Lambiel..., all Swiss... incredible!!
i agree. 1:57 She has a sideways Pearl spin going on, but then she pulls up and it does look like a kind of flower...that's neat! Krieg should be coaching girls on spinning...
She was a brilliant spinner but her jumps never seemed to improve did they? Every comp she messed up on her jumps which were sometimes awful and this was a real shame.
In the 6.0 system dynamic positions were permitted and the required number of revolutions were fewer and not often enforced, so she didn't have to establish every position. In any case she spun fast enough that it didn't matter really. Her first spin did appear as though she let the grab go early, and having done similar spins I can say that it happens often enough, especially when your hand is being cut open :).
Amazing spins, though! Wish we saw more like that nowadays!
I believe that it was two in a position and it is still two, but judges are much stricter now so our coaches teach us to go two revolutions past what the requirement states, so now it's de facto 4 revs. In her day one could get away with one revolution in position and still get credit.
Also, some of her positions count as hard because they are a difficult transition, like the pearl-biellmann-short pearl-biellmann combo... I don't think ANYONE else has ever gone from Biellmann back to layback!
I didn't realize that there were such things as Swiss bastards...
It's too bad she didn't relovate to somewhere else to train, or get time to herself, you know?
As for judging...the Belgian, in my opinion, was too harsh. Perhaps she should've gotten 4.7-5.0, mostly because it seemed like nobody could match Krieg on any element of their spins, and such excellence should not go un-awarded.
This is the first pre-Sasha Cohen I-Spin I've seen! Wow!

her prep jumps before spins aren't bad and thankfully the lousy jumps didn't effect the fantastic spins.

it doesn't matter how many position she does in a spin comb if she doesn't stay long enough in the positions 'cause it doesn't count, does it?
