  • Does anybody wonder if music in the future will be so terrible that we'll all be saying "GIVE US BIEBER!" then just as we say "GIVE US BOB SEGER!" now?

    God I hope not haha.

  • @BeanShip No I will always say give us Bob Seger.

  • @joebulls1 LMAO and falling off my seat.... The 90's,,,, Wow!!!! I turned off my stereo in the mid 80's as that is when all music went to hell.... Thankfully We had the 60's, 70's and 80's... Bob Seger, Doobies, Traffic, Jefferson Airlpane, Beatles, Stones... and hundreds of other totally non-musical mime acts like these to entertain us. Now that you announce music has finally arrived I will turn the stereo back on... Woah! Britney, Jacko, Bieber et al.... and of course Eminem....

  • REAL TALENT...

  • I truly love Bob Seger for a number of reasons. He is a moral, ethical man and I believe he is this country's representative of just great rock and roll. May we all be thankful for the British boys but Bob is in my mind American good old rock and roll from all our hearts.

  • No Bob, Thank you! For being kind & giving us a Hell of a concert!

  • Bob Seger is Great. So talented and a great poet of our time.

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOB

  • @SuperDebbiedoo thanks

  • I hated it when Kenny Rogers did this song. This is not a "pretty" song. It is soulful and heartbreaking. What the hell does that chicken eating "gambler" know about soul??

Bob Seger is one of my all time favorite singers. His voice gets inside me.

  • im crying this reminds me of my town Racine, Wisconsin my aunt Irma and uncle teddy . i was born in Racine, Wisconsin

  • We've got tonite, babe, Why don't you stay...? ^_^ hehehehehe :D

  • Bobby Seger is one of the coolest people on the face of this earth....

  • @jimmyjohnny34 I totally agree

  • @jimmyjohnny34 well america this is true because of the dumbing down of the mass's.

is it no coincidence that as the national I.Q. drops so does the quality of music.

You have hollywood remaking older more brilliant films, movies, cartoons and video games, comic books etc and you have musicians doing the same things.

    No more originality. Brain dead.

  • @panterajoey Since you spell "masses" wrong, I guess you've been dumbed down too.

  • @7188181 to focus and point out minor grammar errors is childish and retarded. you missed the point because your a fucking retard that needs to be shot and killed and disposed of accordingly.

  • where is the talent today like they had then the 90's is the last decade that had talent from rock, pop, r&b ,rap i dont care what anybody says there is nothing today same old shit borin

  • Try Shinedown they ain't the same but they are talented

  • @joebulls1 Start a band and change things man!

  • @joebulls1 i agree..where has all the talent and creativity gone....why cant they have an american idol sort of thing that lets orignal song writers and bands showcase their talents....

  • @joebulls1 No Bob Seger Youtube link would be complete without the cliched "new music sucks" post. Sorry, friend, but if you think the last 2 decades have given us nothing in music, you should probably dig a bit deeper. The radio doesn't count.

  • @joebulls1 well it's almost 1:00 i'll dig after

  • @joebulls1 90S THAT WAS THE END OF MUSIC I SAW BOB SEGER BACK IN 79 AND SILVER BULITT AWESOME 80S WAS THE LAST OF THE METAL HAIR BANDS,HELL LOOK AT ME IM NEVER LETTIN GO,IM 50,ITS SHIT TODAY NOT MUSIC

  • @knight1768 i hear you man i listen to nutin else but the good stuff

  • this is a beautiful song. He's the one who wrote it and sings it a 100 times better than Kenny Rogers or anyone else. I wonder why this version didn't get as much airplay as the others did.

  • i definitely agree with you with that...ronan keating's version was a bluff..

  • first time i heard this song was wen wenny cooper broke up with kevin on the wonder years......lol

  • no melly,,its not that scene,,it was when winnie had an accident and her parents dont wanna let kevin see her,,yet after that kevin came back on cooper's house and climbed the roof to winnie's room and kevin looking, talking to winnie from ouside the window and thats when my tears fell....what a scene it was...

  • @paulmanson o shit u right .... lol thanks dude

  • This song was not written (1978) for The Sting (1973) but was inspired by a scene from that movie. Many folks have misunderstood this song to be a last ditch effort to save a relationship, it's not. This is about a guy who has already been crushed by a lost love and meets his female counterpart, they spend some time together and wind up back at his place, both of them lonely. Bob is not singing to his lost love ... she's long gone. A moment's comfort from the pain ..."no one will care, girl."

  • what a timeless voice! the way he hits those highs so easily is a real craft of his. love your music bob. thank you.

  • Thanks for breakfast Dave~

  • wow being 19 i never grew up with this but it is all that i listen to so i feel like this music is with me considering it is just so amazing!! and that fact that millions of people going through this age can feel this song!!! wow its a masterpiece!!!!!!!!

  • Oh, man! this version shivered my skin.... Sh1ttttt EXCELLENT SONG.

  • what a song.

    thanks for posting

  • loved this song ever since i cried watching it on 'the wonder years'

  • He has some of the best songs EVER. I think this is my favorite though.

  • This man has one of the greatest rock-and-roll voices ever. this song, in particular, is a gem, a classic.

  • i think of henry robert wilson EVERY time i hear this, and always will....and he knows why....here's to you, henry....wherever you are:)

  • donnaelo.....OMG that is so what I was just thinking. Not the Henry Robert Wilson part (LOL) but some names from my past. It's so great how artists like Bob Seger touched so many lives for so many years. My names will go unmentioned, but even though they were junior high and high school guys, they're great memories!!

  • So many great songs! What a great song writer.

  • Comment removed

  • two words...a legend

  • If you don,t like this song then you have never been in love .....

  • Oh that's not true...I love the song and have yet to be in love! :D

I have liked this and that person a ton, but have yet to be in love. But yes. Great song.

  • I saw Bob Seger when he was a nobody opening for Bachman Turner Overdrive (BTO) in Sydney, Nova Scotia in 1975.

  • he was never a nobody

  • Man oh man! This song takes me back to an adventurous, woozy spring night in my mid-late teens when I first had sex! Sweet sweet memories! I still remember her face, her voice, and just about every detail of the experience. Pretty amazing considering it was almost 30 years ago and we were both plastered. Nothing like a song or a scent to suddenly revive vivid memories, no matter how distant.

  • It makes me feel humble knowing that someone that must be double my age can hold the same memories as me and connect them to the same song.

  • Love Love Love it, I'm quite new to this guy but fuck me, I'm glad I found him.

  • I was there and it was awesome unfortunatly the video is not as good but the audio is .

  • Whoa, Bob Seger! This song is even better performed live! "Why don't you stay?..." Jesus, I'd be in his lap before he could even finish the song! Sweet, gorgeous & sexy as hell.

  • and hes probably some loner that has nothing better to do then watch stuff he "hates" jealous punk loll

  • I really dont try to listen to anyone thats negative or read negative comments because their comments dont matter because their dumb. Hes great and thats all their is to it if you dont know what real music is then you shouldnt be allowed to listen to him.

  • QUE SAUDADES!!!!!!!! MUITO BELO!!!!

  • Personally, I think this song is brilliant! While I do not have any real experience of Korn, or Davis' voice, why can't we just let someone have their opinion without having to flame it? I am very much a 60's/70's fan (despite being 30), but the fact is things change, people re-do old stuff- that's how it goes. I rarely like covers as much as the original, but the fact that covers exist should be *celebrated!* Look at how long Shakespeare has survived for due to "covers".

  • appledouche.......the only place i find Korn is in my shit.......learn to live with it dumbass..

  • appledouche........your are as dumb as a bag of fuckin hammers.....korn isnt worth a good shit....fuck you and cornholes ass .dead in the ass fuckin dumbass

  • Bob seger at his best. The original and greatest version of this song

  • I believe, he wrote this song after he saw the "Sting", and it is scene where Robert Redford goes up to the waitress's apartment (before he knew that she was a assasin, of course. One of the Best songs ever!

  • who the fuck is johnathan davis......korn sux ....their songwriting sux, there music sux...and he cant sing worth a fuck...to even mention him in the same breath as bob seger is insane ....and truly a dumbass comment....did you overdose on apple cider ?goddamn idiot...ive heard it all.....

  • i love this song ,though, quite sad and parting ways?

  • Seger is just another on what I thought was a very short list of very underated singers of his era. The list is getting bigger with age and this is just one of at least a dozen GREAT Seger songs!!!!!

  • great song he puts his heart into this one....

  • there is nobody that can cover this song..its bob's...what a great song.... killer lyrics

  • I'm going to be mocked, but I feel the one guy that can match the RASPINESS and EMOTION of this song is the one and only Jonathan Davis of Korn.

In fact he'd make it better, if thats possible.

Dont believe me? Do a search on Korn covering Neil Diamonds Love On The Rocks, or merely look at my front page. Thanks.

  • You are without a doubt a complete dumbass.

  • wonder if this lie has ever worked...

    great song though

  • the best d:

  • This is the ONLY version of this song. It does not work as a duet, sorry, Kenny, Ronan etc.

  • Another underrated Seger song....

I think every woman wants a songs like this written about her, or to live a moment like that....

  • makes bo bice look like a total amatuer, and no disrespect to Bo as he is GOOD, but Bob is the original rocker and will always be the best

  • Damn right!!!who would have figured it was written for the sting?he's one talented guy.I give 'em credit.

Rick in Pa.anyone need a drummer look me up outlawwolf35

  • This is my song. I just happen to love it.

I don't know how it was written for that scene either. I'll just pretend it was written for me and my life.

  • Thanks Tangent for the video. What a beautiful song.Bob told the story on his last tour right before he sang the song it came to him by a section out of the movie "The Sting".I watched the movie after that and have no idea how this song could be written over that one scene.Guess that is why Bob is the artist and I'm not.
