@JustinoFundido The sad part is it's true there Freaking Nazi's some farmer had some Monsanto seeds spill onto his property at the end of the road from a truck which grow and Monsanto tried suing him it was in some documentary I don't think they won the lawsuit tho thank God or the flying spaghetti monster....!
Still many drivers living and driving in hot climates do use SVO in their diesel engines and state they have no problems for many 1000s of kilometers.
However for most diesel engines out there, the ideal fuel is biodiesel which is simply oil without its glycerin (subtracted by the process of transesterification, a process you can do at home if you can take a care a bit of your work and take 1-2 precautions).
Biodiesel is the best fuel you can put on your diesel, far above petroleum diesel
@MrSuPeRsLy21 Is your Camry a diesel? Then yes. BUT if you use straight veggie oil then you have to make sure your injections will tolerate it. As the video tells you nicely, the straight oil is viscous especially in low temperatures and as such most modern cars' systems do have problems. Also something not mentioned often is that engine wear with straight oil is pronounced - ideally an engine must be wholy designed for straight oil but unfortunately no manufacturer wants to do that.
I run my diesel rabbit on 75% heating oil and 25% used engine oil (contains some ATF and Brake fluids too). Been running since 4 years now without any problems. No significant smoke or anything other like that.
I work for a large trucking company and the problems we ran into with biodiesel is that we tried to run 10% biodiesel and what happened was our gas mileage went from 2.6 mpg to 2.2 mpg, so it wasn't doing any good for us.
first experimental engine, built 1893 together with the Maschinenfabrik Augsburg (MAN) in Germany led to its destructio, little bit ealier than 1903. however biodiesel's low cost can make it benificial to run at full usage vs. small percentages.
@05harty You can run it on new diesels as well. My friend just got his 2004 Cummins on oil ! So far, no problems. The only problem with a newer engine might be the injector pump or the injectors, but if your oil is hot enough, it's no problem!
@3ddonovan I highly doubt that it works really well. The chemistry between vegetable based oil and crude based oil is very different when it comes to lubrication of metals and longevity of that lubrication property! I bet if you are still driving your car with veg. oil as the lubrication of motor oil you have added a 10,000 miles of wear and tear for every mile you drove down the street.
@3ddonovan Guys like me who burn vegetable oil as fuel need to change the engine oil more often because the vegetable oil combustion in the cylinder mixes slightly with engine oil and that contaminated engine oil first attacks the valves! So it you are serious you are likely in real trouble right about now.
i knew that, its pretty amazing that the world was so close to be energy efficient, and pollutant free as far as vehicles go, if ford would of made it run on ethanol, i think all the other car manufactures would have to. world would be great
@000eMan000 I'm no expert but I've seen fuel line heaters that work well. It heats the oil inside the fuel line on its way from the tank to the injectors.
I bet those are Monsanto seeds. Don't let Monsanto know your making fuel out of their seeds. They will claim they own the fuel.

@72fr250 yep. u can even mix a little gas w it just to keep it hot. about a half gallon to 20 gallons of veggie

coconut oil is the best.....been tested, and so is palm oil......beats the hell out of soybean, peanut, canola and olive oil.

use the vegetable oil AS FUEL not engine oil.
