  • I really appreciate seeing this. Because, the way the sales pitch was presented had a truly unique way of building the new car's value. A fun car for anyone who bought one; boy what a car.

  • this is one of the nicest cars ive ever seen

  • I'm actually impressed it has 160 horsepower, look at what the 3.4 Firebird/Camaros had in the nineties... the same, lol. 40 some odd years later.

  • So what if they were slow, with a car like this, you're not going to want to horse on it anyways, baby it

  • Yep only 300 made and just a year ago they found a 53 Corvette in a old forgotten junk yard Cars and trucks old buses everywhere all rusted unrestorable they had to clean up the 50 plus year old junkyard sold what they could scaped what they could not sell and after pulling all the junk Cars out there it was sitting way back lost in the old junk missing alot of parts. People saw it and said its MINE I'm buying it . it was a first come first go it had 10 plus people fighting for it what a mess.

  • slow ? yes but sports cars then were built for cruising. not for speed. it's still a very rare car.

  • They call her...CORVETTE. love it. best model by the best brand.

  • why stick to the past. . . . if this car came out last week corvette would go bankrupt.. . classic shmassic this car is shitty

  • @foxwright The Corvette are made Chevy and GM idiot! This was the 50's idiot! People find this car very rare because they only made about 300 of these corvettes!

  • ...And she has 160 hp!

    love it

  • it was slow and expensive back then, nevertheless it became a legend

  • And what is sad is a 2010 Toyota Sequoia handels better than this deos, but a 2010 sequoia will never look better!

  • Weak six. 150 HP. Nice though.

  • There's a 53 Corvette for sale for 30K dollars but it has a 350 Engine. Does this matter?

  • Only because it's not the original. The original was a Blue Flame straight six.

  • @lokrat2 .....you sir are right...that is the original with the blue flame in-line 6 ! Only way it came...in '53

  • Interesting to watch this commercial, featuring Dave Garroway, the original host of the Today Show on NBC.

It was a sincere endorsement. Garroway was a sports car fancier and purchased one of the first 300 Corvettes built during the short 1953 production run...which is why GM asked him to do the film. (It was the first of a number of Vettes he owned before he passed away in 1982.)

NBC News has never let any subsequent hosts of the Today show do commercial endorsements.

  • what a beautiful car. hands down one of the greatest american cars ever built. period.

  • it's kinda awesome when you look how far we've come. Back then, that was the top of the line car. my stock s10 has a little more power.

  • Love to have that car.

  • Best damn invention in Car history
