@junior12386282 it's a "string-skipping" lick using the minor arpeggio of the root note. you can form it in A by pulling off the 8th fret of the high E string to the 5th fret, skipping down to the G string to pull off the 9th fret to the 5th fret, then hitting the root note on the D string at the 7th fret and going back up.

I love guitar, and I think Gilbert is great. With that being said, the "oppinion defence" is not valid here, because you have to be a moron, to appreciate this crap.

Alternate picking, exact same patterns over and over, with a heavy distorted chord, progressing into the next alternate picking pattern.

The last bit where he does the bends in 2 octaves, is equally retarded.

This is his younger days, and I guess it was cool back then, so he's excused.

Paul has a style that consists of playing two scales back and forth over and again as fast as he can..and once he feels bored with that, he picks a different scale and does the same thing...he's an amazing player but nothing is really breathe taking about his style.

Who said playing up and down scales can't be good? What if you can MAKE it sound powerful and captivating and interesting. That's what an awesome guitarist can do. Take the linear and predictable and present in such a fashion that can blow your mind. Paul can.
