I remember years ago seeing a few commercials for the show but never tuned in. Years later after it was long gone, I watched it. It was funny but I still thought it was too much. Too dense. It took a while but I watched all the seasons. I thought it was pretty good but didn't think it was special. I watched the series again and I picked up on so much I had missed. It is fucking amazing! I can't believe they canceled it but it's coming back.

@TheSilverApe Yes I realize this, I just feel like they've taking so long with the documentary that whenever it finally does come out it's not going to pack the same punch it would have had it been released 'on time,' considering the tone (at least by the trailers) is a bunch of people amazed why Fox would cancel it and that it's not coming back, probably being hopeful for the movie, etc.

Just seems it might feel dated and unnecessary by the time it comes out considering, is what I meant.

it's the same with futurama. fox cancelled, they moved to CN or something and when that ended, they released 4 films over several years and you know why? just because they care about their fans. futurama was a great show in their times, and that's the reason why it came back years later. i love arrested development, it's the no.1 for me of all time and i know nothing can top it. and i love that there is a movie coming out, and i wouldn't regret if it was the last AD. cause it is so special to us

Its really hard to market a very smart, intelligent show like this when the top rating shows these days are the Kardashains, jersey shore, pretty much any show on E! or MTV. Seinfeld is a classic case that didn't do well in ratings till around season 4 so i feel they should have given it more of a chance.

"Best show ever" (in my book anyway). The only "problem" with the otherwise flawless show was the "joke on a joke on a joke on a joke".

If viewers missed joke #1, they missed the subsequent 15 jokes about that joke.

I watched from Ep. 1 so I "got" all the jokes - and every commercial break was spent trying to explain to someone what the jokes meant.

Add the fact that Fox couldn't find a time slot and just leave it there, compounded the ratings problem and confounded viewers.

Hey I'm just wondering....it seems like maybe the reason it's taking so long is that you want to have that appropriate ending where you get to speak about the Arrested movie, right? that's certainly a smart idea....it'd create a sort of happy ending for the film....and you can't really release the documentary without the most pivotal update on Arrested Development I guess....I completely understand the delay. kudos on working on such a great project.
