There are no diffrences between DX and OpenGL,Microsoft just keeps advising DX as it is the best one,no it isn't.OpenGL is same good.The OpenGL doesn't get updated often,because there isn't anything to do,yet.But DX,there are still bugs in :P
As developer,I'm for the OpenGL,it has cross-platform support,it is easy to use.
I think Open GL looks slightly brighter, while dx11 looks to handle games with a lot of shadows and dark features better. I prefer the open gl look from the video above, because for most of the demonstation they looked very similar, but when it came to displaying sunglare or light reflecting off of the water you couldn't see the proper lighting off the metal with dx, that's just my opinion, but what do I know.
To me, it looks like OpenGL has brighter lighting/less shadowing than DX11. DX11 has a little more detail in the textures but also a little bit more blurriness it seems.
Open GL have more stability in this test. Metal also better or looks like better more decals , Open GL looks like a pirat boot really old metal and wood but the Direct X is better in light.
off course the directx 11 is better as the components like shine, reflection (esp metal) the smoke and particles are better with directx 11 also if you look at the winmill the smoothness of the blades is visible whereas with open GL it has tents along the edges of the fan blades
watched it in 1080p openlgl looks like it has better colors dx11 looks like it has a super white and super black effect to try and open up the color range just to match opengl so you lose details in dx plus things appear farther from the screen in opengl so it can probably render more things at once just saying
@LTF85199 The difference I see between the two is the color. I see that Open GL is brighter than DirectX. It almost appears, also, that the colors are clearer, but darker on DirectX. OpenGL is easily brighter, and I can see a lot of the lighting being different between the two. Other than my constantly restated brightness comment, I see little to no different between the two.
How many fps in each test. Do you have done (or know) the test for sli or crossfire (any difference about the scaling). Which API is better for you...

dx looks more detailed, and open gl looks tooooo sharp/unrealistics. The only thing i think open gl rendered better was the fire

Its funny to see this yet games such as Enslaved on PS3 cant even keep a steady 60 FPS

Which one is better?

@LTF85199 We can´t see any difference between DX11 and OpenGL. So there is no better API :)

@HardwareMAGde And how long has it been since OpenGL's latest release? Pfahh. Dx has JUST caught up.

@MoonLightFacade Latest DX11.1 version from September 14, 2011. OpenGL 4.2 from August 8, 2011.

@HardwareMAGde Neither is better, OpenGL is cross-platform. So in my opinion OpenGL wins.

@bardoczx The Video is recorded with 30 fps. We can´t see any difference between DX11 and OpenGL. So there is no better API :)
SLI/CF test with GL vs DX11 is a good idea. We will test it, thx
