  • The video paused right when he says "well it'll dissolve y'see, and the moon beams will shoot out of your..." Certainly sends a specific image.

  • I'd just like to say that I didn't mean to offend anyone by my comment.. I'm sorry if I did. I actually don't break up with men because they are not "man enough" for me. Excuse me for stating my opinion.

  • In light of new promises this should be Newt Gingrich's new campaign ad,

  • @TestMonkey254 perfect!

  • I told my GF that she could swallow my full moon and she didn't respond well..

  • On the third date with my girlfriend I said this to her, and held her close under the moonlight. I showed her the movie 3 months afterwards, and I had never seen her smile so much before... She said it was the cutest thing I had ever said to her.

  • Lasso the full moon in 2012...it IS a wonderful life!

  • Omg. I love This movie. I just finished watching it in school. It's awesome.

  • After "Then what?" is when it gets weird. Always laugh at that part it seems to come out of nowhere. :P

  • What is it you want, Mary? What do you want? You want the moon? Just say the word and I'll throw a lasso around it and pull it down. Hey. That's a pretty good idea. I'll give you the moon, Mary.

  • love this scene!

  • I wish I lived in the 1940s. Back when men were gentlemen. <3

  • @hnlover1226 And women were ladies, and not complete cunts.

  • @hnlover1226 yes the 1940s and 1950s were good years IF you were white male middle class or above otherwise you were really screwed. but go ahead and look at them through rose colored glasses and classic denial of the TRUTH.

  • @billhause 1940s and 1950s and... you can complain at every decade because we're all just people and every year brings new shit with it. But it's not about coplaining but noticing and appreciating the good things. Otherwise you'll grow old and die old and bitter and the world will still be divided between good and bad.

  • @hnlover1226 Back when men were gentlemen, right? 0:21

  • @hnlover1226 ye like hitler

  • @hnlover1226 ah you'll grow up the same as madame bovary.

  • @hnlover1226 MEN ARE STILL GENTLEMEN BITCH

  • @b0ob0

    Fuckin A

  • @hnlover1226

And women weren't such demanding little cunts who expected their man to do everything and give them every little thing, emotional problems and all.. yea I'd like to go back to the 40's.. when woman knew their place.

  • @hnlover1226

btw.. its woman like you.. we refer to as cunts.. were still gentleman just not with little whores like yourself. Bet you break up with men because they are not "man enough" for you ..

  • @hnlover1226 Some of us still are, we're known as "just friends"

  • I wish I lived in the 1940s. Back when women weren't whores.

  • Wishes this was how it was still

  • Watched it yesterday for the 100th time. Such a great film and a real tear jerker. Iconic scenes and dialogue. James Stewart is awesome in this movie. They don't make e'm like they used to.

  • Awesome movie...and we love it any time of year. Come visit us to see how you could enjoy this moving in a cabin decorated in this wonderful nostalgia. It is our theme and can be found at tinyurl dot com's webpage ending in "wonderfulcabin."

  • SHE SO PRETTY

  • I just love how whoever posted this has no idea about this movie based on their description...

  • guys like Frank Capra, Jimmy Stewart, and girls like Donna Reed, Jean Arthur would be folks I'd like to meet on the other side one day.

  • "Ahhhh, youth is wasted on the wrong people!" I totally get that line now.

  • wow, she's tough to please...

  • James Stewart, why are you so sweet :)

  • Ahhhh, Classic.. I Love This Scene..

  • "It's a Wonderful Life" is one of those movies that charmed me as a teenager, and it set the standard of what I expected out of life. It had wholesome values, innocent romance, and projected family and community in a very idealistic way. Real life never really delivered that dream to me, but every day I try to keep it alive. Real life is more like Pottersville than Bedford Falls. Perhaps that is why It's a Wonderful Life is probably my favorite film.

  • @JoshuaH688 One day my friend.

  • @JoshuaH688 What a fantastic comment, and although you wrote it months ago I have to acknowledge it.

  • @markeyboynum1 And months later, that comment still stands; but to add to it, I have to acknowledge that in spite of all of the challenges in life and reasons for cynicism, there are still occasional glimmers of hope which give cause for optimism. It's like the old story of the Biblical city of Sodom. The city was almost all bad, but the city wasn't destroyed because there was still at least one good soul left in it. Such is the world. Though oft dark, yet traces of light make us soldier on.

  • "lasso the moon" This line has gotten me soo much ASS!!!!

  • "And then what?"

"And then you can swallow it. And it'll dissolve, see. It'll shoot out of your fingers, and your toes, and the ends of your hair."

Damn...i wanna have sex with jimmy stewart XD bahaha

  • is the title of the movie Lasso the moon?

  • Comment removed

  • @OnigiriMely it's called "It's a Wonderful Life" :) my favouriteeeee

  • at least Jim Carrey got the moon to Jennifer Aniston in Bruce Almighty!!

  • please

  • I remember You and I using this sound clip for their song Silent Mourning Whisper.

  • youth is wasted on the young people. lol.

  • I couldnt tell you how bad I want something like this.

  • @andrewtalks1

I wouldn't say I'm obsessed with it, but I just think it shows the charm of films of the era. I love the way they talk, you just don't get that any more. The bit at the end makes me laugh too. What kind of romantic gesture would you get in films these days? Getting a call back after sleeping with someone? Haha.

  • @andrewtalks it's simple really, they're falling in love, and if you've seen the whole movie, when she picks up that rock and hits the glass, she cancles his dream and shows him that he can have adventures without leaving town.

  • @andrewtalks1 Well, first of all; how old is your age ?

  • @andrewtalks1 its just a very romantic thing that he is willing to do for the girl he loves. Its just a sweet romantic gesture i guess lol

  • 1:28

  • 3 people didnt get the moon...

    great scene, love it!!!

  • We Love this movie...reminds us of how much we Love each other.

  • I'd kill to look like Donna Reed... why were all the truly beautiful actresses decades before my generation? This is one of my favorite scenes from any movie. Especially that last line.

'WHY DON'T YA KISS HER INSTEAD OF TALKING HER TO DEATH?'

The telephone scene at Mary's house is pretty good too :-) And for the guys reading this, romanticism isn't dead. If a guy like that showed me a scene like this, I'd marry him on the spot =D

  • @LivinFortheCity I agree! Donna Reed is the most under rated actress in the Golden Days of Hollywood. She is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my life. Me and her have something in common though, we both have the same birthdays. I would also love to live back in the days when romance and politeness existed.

  • I should seriously take notes from this film. This, Casablanca, La Belle et La Bete, and Shakespeare are REAL ways of courting a woman not like those ridiculous ones you'd find in Coppola's bizarre take on Dracula ( I can't really buy a film where the woman just forgets that her "sweet prince" is a monster that feeds babies to his brides, messed up her fiancee, and raped/murdered/transformed her best friend as a very appealing love story), or a Nicolas Sparks book. We need more stuff like this.

  • hows that?

  • Ah..girls these days dont know romantic lines anymore..everything is "cheesy/lame" nowadays

  • @sazer123 I showed my girlfriend this and she just rolled over and kept reading. Romantics these days are treated as fools instead.

  • So far it seems as if Mr.Potter hired 3 people to press the dislike button.

  • damn it they were great with words during the olden days..

  • My name is Mary and REALLY hope my future husband says that to me <3

"what is it that you want Mary? What do you want? You want the moon? Just say the word and ill throw a lasso around it and pull it down. Hey that's a pretty good idea. Ill give you the moon Mary" <3

  • AM I TALKING TO MUCH? YES!!! WHY DONT U KISS HER ALREADY INSTEAD OF TALKING HER TO DEATH?? XDDDDD BEST SCENE

  • James Stewart has ruined me for all other men...

  • @MerciRayMcKay

    omg i knooooooow

  • @MerciRayMcKay Then all of us men should be more like James Stewart. He was a great guy.

  • @cmtmj2006 agreed haha

  • @MerciRayMcKay what does that mean?

  • sweet and funny :)

  • this guy reminds me Joel Osteen in a way

  • @11193dom Did you really just call James Stewart this guy???

  • @mrjimmy123456 yes i did. excuse me cuz i don't recognize an actor from a movie that probably came out 70 years before i was born.

  • @11193dom omg.....i am so on your side....how can you call him THIS GUY......let's see i was born in 89 and so thats....43 years before i was born...and I know who Jimmy Stewart is...I also know that he is one of the greatest actors of all time

  • Jimmy Stewart. If I could go back to 1946 I would marry you.

  • @vicsmiles Not 1946; his best years were in the 30s, like when he did "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" and "The Shop Around the Corner". That's when he was hot!

  • Still the most romantic line ever

  • The best film ever made.

  • Long Live Black & White Movies on the Silver Screen. Color films don't carry the same power and texture as these gems. Digital captured images carry even less depth and texture. Timeless treasures the old Silver Screen movies!

  • love this movie, watch it every year

  • Mary canceled out George's wish with her wish.

  • This movie will NEVER, EVER get old. it is so dear to my heart.

  • Oh, I just love this old romantic sceneof one of my favorite movies♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ lol luv the old man at the end; KISS ER ALREADY!

  • Gotta write these lines down and try them sometime. James Stewart was the man!

  • And the best part is, teenagers won't listen to what you say. Ha!

  • @jorloff Hey now.. I'm a teenager. 16. I love old films like this =D

  • @Axion3812 Ha ha, well that nice to here. I guess youth isn't wasted on everyone!

  • youth is wasted on the wrong people...it's just a shame we have to get older to realize it.

  • Gets me emotional every time.

  • That Fat ass on the porch is just laughing at those bastards.....love is for fools.

  • This is my favoriteee movie of all time!

check out my song 2010 lasso the moon

the best song for the lady check it out DOE BOY

  • So ... what do you think she wished for?

  • If you've seen the movie, you know she wished for him to marry him and to live in that house with him.

  • @kevinhops317 think about it it will come to u

  • aww thats so romantic

  • BEST PART OF ANY MOVIE EVER.

  • Got no words other than ...what a wonderful movie

  • Mixed reviews when it originally came out. Did not do so well at the box office.

  • @vxenon67 Mainly cuz The Best Part of Our Lives came out at the same time, that's also why it sadly didn't win any Oscars

  • Just beautiful....

  • Oh, just go ahead and kiss her! lol

  • Youth is WASTED on the wrong people... LOL

  • why do they all talk alike, like an old time accent, and all of the towns people seem to be rude or crabby

  • Donna Reed is so smoking hot

  • @alphadawg44 You said it.

  • @alphadawg44 the correct word is "pretty" or "beautiful." "Hot" is something you use for bikini models.

  • @alphadawg44 I have to agree with you, classic beauty, you don't find that anymore

  • @alphadawg44 Like

  • @alphadawg44 Ain't it the truth!

  • @alphadawg44 WAS

  • This is one of the most romantic scenes in a movie. I would melt if that happened to me which is why it is in movie. This is one of my favorite movies of all time.

  • The thing I love about this movie is it's almost like the town knew it was going to need him to save it from Potter. So it made sure he never left.

  • @drain12 By 'anytime' I assume you mean anytime from the now and on into the future. In which case, Donna Reed died 23 years ago.

    You disgust me.

  • @drain12 hahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • BTW, what is a buffalo gal.. does she live in buffalo? is she as big as a buffalo.. she she heard buffalo.. what is it?

  • Buffalo girl is married to elephant man.
