@oldoperafan I don't find that to be true. The two are alike in that they are both fairly large of frame and muscular relative to their fellow company members; however, they both have very different proportions, different feet, etc. I see more similarity between Lopatkina or Kolegova and Kondaurova than between Kondaurova and Alexandrova.
Kondaurova’s dancing is far, far easier on the eyes than that caricature of classical ballet, Alina Somova. Kondaurova is to Marilyn Monroe what Alina Somova is to Jayne Mansfield. Same attributes, big difference in effect.

isn't it sad that when a performance goes well and the audience loves it they dancers get all the credit, but whne it goes wrong the blame gets put on the choreographer? sorry just thinking whilst watching this. I thought this was lovely but just not enough elasticity to her movements. not in extensions: but in quality of movements. odile has to be sharp but not robotic. Just caught little glimpses of that at some points. other than that i enjoyed this, though I stick to Zakharova and Lopatkina.
Haven’t seen such heavy swan before. And it’s not that she is just too big for David, even on her own, Kondaurova moves with visible effort. Swan is suppose to glide!
@TheBalletFan Stop talking crap about Kondaurova. You're talking about a girl who feeds on baby food once in a while and starves herself the rest of the time in order to keep losing weight. Only because she doesn't have the same body type as most Mariinsky ballerinas doesn't mean she's "heavy". But if you still think so you probably need your eyes checked.
Was trying to enjoy this but the tempo kept annoying me; seemed a bit slow. I hadn't seen Kondaurova before; she's lovely.

Kondaurova reminds me physically of Maria Alexandrova.

@hellotomorrow14 Sorry, I should have said 'as Odette/Odile', a large swan. But I looked again now and perhaps you are right.

@EvanescenceROCKSS Zakharova not robotic (??)

@26looksee Yes I don't find Zakahrova robotic. In my opinion, anyway. :)

Beautiful, queenly, statuesque swan - love Kondaurova!

@Pearlaceous. I am with you on this one 100%. In reponse to some others, she isn't "heavy"; she is a fairly tall girl with beautiful strong legs.

@TheBalletFan I think for Odile her heaviness works but David's weak partnering doesn't help her. You are right though, she's no light little fairy
