JPJ was really influenced by jazz bassist Charles Mingus and Motown bass guitar legend James Jamerson. JPJ had mad respect for R&B and Soul music, and it defintely shows in all of his bass lines.
Cheers. Having recently found the cassette & listened to it I got interested in researching it and Googled it - managed to find one copy of the LP on 2nd-hand vinyl so I ordered it. Haven't received it yet, but expecting it tomorrow. I remember seeing the perormance on TV - can't remember what show it was. I think someone once said that JPJ was the best funk bassist ever to play in a rock band.

I have the album. There are two or three stand out tracks. It's a shame it's practically diappeared.
