  • Great to hear her sing a funky song. You can tell she'd been living in the UK a number of years at that time by her English sounding vowels in the introduction.

  • still luvvvin madeline no mater what :)

  • This is from the BBC-2 TV show "Colour My Soul", December 6, 1973.

  • @Hogeboom1

    1973 sounds about right!

  • JPJ was really influenced by jazz bassist Charles Mingus and Motown bass guitar legend James Jamerson. JPJ had mad respect for R&B and Soul music, and it defintely shows in all of his bass lines.

  • Thanks for this rarity. I'd never heard of it after years of searching for all Zep related music.

  • Hi splco97,

Cheers. Having recently found the cassette & listened to it I got interested in researching it and Googled it - managed to find one copy of the LP on 2nd-hand vinyl so I ordered it. Haven't received it yet, but expecting it tomorrow. I remember seeing the perormance on TV - can't remember what show it was. I think someone once said that JPJ was the best funk bassist ever to play in a rock band.

  • I have the album. There are two or three stand out tracks. It's a shame it's practically diappeared.
