I have worked on six diff. series of Van Hools about 550 busses and I guarantee they are the worst buss to buy . The only two good things about these busses is they look nice (opinion) and they are they best job security a mechanic could have (fact) . Many problems start at less then 5,000 miles . If you have one good luck if your planning to buy one and can aford the tripple parts price and it to be in the shop 90 percent of its life then enjoy.
I used to drive tour buses all over the western United States for 24+ years so I see a few problems, temperature of the engine, outside & inside of the bus regular size bus these are usually pushed to the maximum when it's 115° outside and you are going uphill and every day it's over 100°. Regular sized bus has 384 cu. ft. Luggage space in this bus only has 295 cu. ft but will have 32 more passengers, there are no overhead bins on the double-decker, per vanpool
don't the video makers understand the whole point of these videos is to show the INSIDE! i have seen tons of exteriors..who cares. i live on the inside!
@Nachspeil ok,obviously your just here to be a troll, and trying to be funny. How about shutting up from this point on!!! Your comments here have nothing to do with this clip!
@datkoolbrutha not trollin just making observations. Land is more expensive in europe than it is in the US, plus its alot small and shit. so naturally the streets are going to be less wide on avg.
@ExUSSailor Speak for yourself. I have been involved with VH's for 10 years. They are great to drive and the tech's find them to be very mechanic-friendly. Try doing a injector job in a J4500..that engine is shoehorned in there like nobodys business.
We have a version of those for Megabus/Coach USA.I just had no idea that they can be this large. And with the narrow streets in NYC, I don't see these getting around that easy, lol!
@Nachspeil well, you need to visit New York in the downtown area and see how narrow they really are,ha,ha! I drive a 45ft coach through those streets every day. Streets like Bridge street, wall street, fulton street.
Even some 18 wheeler truck drivers try but often get stuck. Not saying Europe doesn't have them either, but you can't say New York Streets are not narrow unless you been here buddy, so I'm sorry to say, your comment sounds a bit premature here!
@datkoolbrutha Lived in albany for 5 years made weekend trips to new york quite frequently. Most avenues are purpose built in america, whilst in some parts of europe you have to conform to set road sizes because they have been like that since the middle ages.
The noticeable difference between tractor units in the U.S. and Europe is that almost all European models are "cab over engine" while the majority of U.S. trucks are conventional (motor in front of driver) providing greater visibility
@Nachspeil how does the motor in front of driver provide greater visibility vs a cab over?in a cab over, you can actually look down and see how close you are to something, you can do that with motor up front.one advantage with motor up front would be better aerodynamics though.

In Europe, that's a standard coach, nothing special whatsoever. Might be looking great inside but I doubt it.

This is not the 'BIG ONE'. There is a bigger (longer) TD927 double decker coach.
This TD927 is been driven on the roads of Europe for a long time now.
ABC just hasn't ordered any.
