i'm very confused as to why people think brooke stopped loving lucas at the start of season four, when facts from season five/six prove that she didnt, she made the real act of true love by selflessly giving lucas up (4x09) as she thought he could only ever truly be happy with peyton.
I think the director fucked up, BIG TIME. In more ways than one. First of all, the end game was ALWAYS Leyton. Brucas didn't matter to him. I think the only reason they got together was because Chad and Sophia were dating. In Season 3, i think they were already married, so that meant Brucas galore. And around season 4/5 ish, they got divorced, so here comes the Leyton. I won't start about how much Season 5 irked me with Brooke acting like Leyton was okay.
Let me just say this. I agree that Brucas have intense chemistry & that Leyton are sorta boring. But I still think Leyton are meant to be together, from day 1. Mark Schwan even admitted that it was always supposed to be them. Sophia and Chad breaking up had nothing to do with it. And I actually don't think Peyton's the bitch here - in season 1 she was, but all she did in season 3 was be HONEST with Brooke. I really don't understand why that makes her a bitch. So here, I'm on Peyton's side.

She knows how mad Brooke is about it and Peyton said that she wasn't going to do anything about it. But still she's like "hey Lucas, let's hang out alone in ur bedroom". The smart thing would have been to just get som space between her and Lucas. But Peyton did act out of selfishness. She wanted to be around the guy she loved.

She even convinced herself that the reason they were still together was because HE needed her, which also can happen in real life. That's exactly this show's problem. It's hanging on to an idea that Mark had at the beginning of the show and that's why ~true love always~ comes off force and contrived. And also, because I underestimated how much I was going to say :P, I HATE the way that Lucas always comes off as the good guy. Some perfect knight in shining armor gary stu who just has so much love in his heart and he's so conflicted by these two girls that he loves so much. If he really loved them, he wouldn't have strung them along for so long, and told them both the exact same things to make them feel special. One girl or the other always gets the blame, but what about him? He was an ASS.

(2/2) again a very independent young woman, clung to him even when she knew there was no getting things back to the way they were when they WERE good. She even convinced herself that the reason they were still together was because HE needed her, which also can happen in real life. And it was so obvious there that she wanted to help him, save him from everything, but she finally realized, it's not enough. This was a very strong scene for her to stand up and say "no more" and I was proud of her.

That's exactly this show's problem. It's hanging on to an idea that Mark had at the beginning of the show and that's why ~true love always~ comes off force and contrived. What he created with Brooke and Lucas was an honest love that was built from respect and trust. I never saw any of that with LP. But I don't think Lucas deserves Brooke anymore, and while I think Lucas deserves to die miserable and alone for stringing two girls along for 8 years (?), I'm just gonna have to feel sorry for Peyton

if you have not received it yet so is the first book exactly the same as what you may see in the series. Its not all about brook or payton only, its about everyone. I mean, the book is the serie, if you understand. And if I remember correctly, Nathan do not say that the book is just about brook, but more that she was a big part of it.

There are three reasons why I will never support leyton...
