You're right. I want to become a manga artist and I was trying to learn by bying books on how to draw manga for beginners. But my manga looks like crap, so I am going to do it my own way.

I think in england its pronounced Manga, but in America its Monga. I think its because of accents, it sounds different.

its monga pronunciation MANG-GUH is american pronunciation because japanese does not have the MANG sound.

no, it's not. there is not "american pronounciation" because manga is not a word in the English language. it's pronounced MAHN-GA. it's a long with a with an "ah" sound, not a short a with a "ay" sound.

manga is japanese comic art doesn't mean the characters have to be too

Manga is Japanese Comic art, but if the characters are not, how could we say it's manga? Do you call DC Comics, DC Manga too? Marvel Manga? Manga is already a specific term for Japanese Comics. If ure not drawing the style, you can simply call it comic or cartoon characters.

that looks more manga style than something that I would see from DC or Marvel. Just because we make american comics does that mean we have no japanese characters in our stories? Doesn't matter what nationality the character is in manga. I've seen manga without the main character or all characters being from japanese descent or asian for that matter, it depends on the artist really. Manga is all about your style not a certain form you have to follow any manga artist will tell you that.

i kinda agree with you. I mean it is kinda weird to learn how to draw manga from an american dude manga is japanese. But i think manga is just a style of drawing, but honestly, it looks more like regular cartoons than a manga chareter . . .

Actually the real pronounciation is (Ma-n-ga) correct. But the sound don come out as Mongga. Therefore, Mongga is wrong too... hahaha!
