I like the chord changes they used. It's different from the stock arrangement, right? Sounds almost like Coltrane's "Impressions". Modal, but with some variation to keep it interesting. Nice job!
Donald is a great friend of mine although I haven't seen him lately..We served together with the ever so fine 1st US Army New York Band. Donald always impressed us! He is a wonderful player in addition to being a fine individual. After seeing this, it is obvious to everyone what a great player he is...I had the honor of playing various gigs with him and it was always a blast when Donald was on the gig..We'll never forget the great parades up and down 5th Ave NYC. All the best Donald!
