2:28 YouTube video: Clarence "Frogman" Henry singing his 1956 debut hit Ain't Got No Home.
March 19, 1937: birth of Clarence "Frogman" Henry, American musician. His trademark croak, utilized to the maximum on his 1956 debut hit "Ain't Got No Home," earned Henry his nickname and jump-started a career that endures to this day.
Back in the 1970's on local Houston Top 40 station KILT 610, a gentleman would call in requesting this song. He did it every week and so often that the hosts knew in advance what he wanted to hear but they would play along with him and always ask what do you want to hear? The gentleman would say, "I got to hear the song again!" They'd say. "What song?" He then would say, "You know the song!" I got to hear it man! I got to hear it again!" And, they'd start play Aint Got No Home by The Frogman!
@1johnlangford2 It sure has some Good old Swing....and i bet the Frog turned into a Prince not long after singing this tune...not too short of anything...
Thanks for sharing this John....goes into my classic tunes:-)
