  • Feb. 12th is my Birthday abraham and I share the same birthday

  • i havent seen any of these and its been a long time since this =p

  • These look lame. Really awful. They look like cartoons!

One of the coins says "of AMERICA" and the other three say "OF AMERICA"? WTF is that?

    Just awful.

  • Sneaking in the Amero much? There is a penny with a shield? What is the shield? What does that have to do with Lincoln oh yeah the union hmmm suspicious much?

  • @Crazymagus13 i wud like to know how they came up with the shield? nwo is in effect has been for years now .. a shield ? hmmmm

  • @metrocard09 There excuse will be that Lincoln ran the union which he did and is true. But symbolism is key there. What they want is a North American Union. Yes we are already under the control of world powers. They are not calling anything North American Union yet, they won't. The penny thing is a slow beta test for the population. The fact that some of us picked up on it is bad for them and us. They now know we know. They will watch to see if we try to stop it now.

  • um i have seen the shield not the others yet but thy should come around and why didn't obama be assassinated the same place as ab hmmp.

  • What about the fifth one? It has a shield on the back that says ONE CENT.

  • hey everyone im selling unsearched wheat penny rolls with steels in every roll and some steels on top of the roll and some ih showing on ebay. if interested please respond or pm for my ebay user.

  • i got the log cabin and Lincoln cutting wood ones. i dont care about the value of it i care about how cool it is.

  • Like most other things today, they are worried more about what it looks like rather than its real value.

  • I have the first three cents in a plastic holder. The only design I've gotten in change is the log cabin design.

  • I got the penny with the log cabin and i found it uncirculated(i got it from a supermarket as change)

  • Is this only going to be for the 2009 mint, or will the change be permanent? I saw one of the new pennies (I think the second one, with him sitting or something) at work today, and was wondering that.

  • The 4 this year are commemorative pennies. But from 2010 and on there will be a new design that will replace the Lincoln memorial full-time

  • Lets hope thy switch back to more solid and valued materials like copper....or maybe make steel pennies like canada does. The zinc just falls to pieces. -.-

Also...we need to bring back silver coinage! That will help us way more than paper bills. ITS WORTH MORE!

  • the new penny. soon to be worth more tha our rapidly devaluing dollar (i mean scrap value)..

  • I bet President Obama is really getting tired of having to make a speech for every little insignificant event that takes place in the United States. No one said being Commander in cheif would be easy.

  • shiny!!

  • yup

  • i am going to get some of those.

  • I guess that was the change we can believe in, he was talking about.

  • They're printing alot of new dollars too.

  • I pray for all involved.. Come to Jesus all today because we never know when our last day is here. after death its too late to choose Jesus.

  • Lincoln was a fascist pig who was all about socialism...He was merely a 2 centuries too early... If you think he did a thing for the slaves of America you better take a serious look into your history book's...He only proclaimed the emancipation act He did nothing for slaves at all!!! He was made a national hero for nothing at all, But the fact he got assassinated

  • Wow! the last I heard the gubment was considering doing away with the penny altogether because the metal used is actually worth more than the one cent value now they flipped a 180 and not only kept it but spent no telling how many tens or hundreds of thousands retooling for a NEW PENNY during a recession/Depression WTF! , I mean WTF!

  • Get this straight. Pennies are useless and costly. The

mints and Reserve banks are buried in them. With all

due respect and love for Old Abe, screw this pointless

waste of tax dollars. This is NOT a tribute to Abe. This is more proof that government has far more than its share of stupidity. Not having this penny and

a 5% reduction in employees at the Mints would save us something north of $100M a year. To the fools who made this all happen - thanks for nothing. And I still love Old Abe.

  • WTF more waste of our taxes The US dollar will probably be worthless after all this stimulus spending. Get ready for hyper inflation and way more people out of work. Gettin pretty scary for folks now

  • Most pennies end up in the trash because they are useless. There is probably billions of pennies in landfills right now. The penny is worthless and should be abolished - set prices in 5 cent incriments.

  • Nothing spells government waste like "the new penny".

  • Abolish the penny - one to four pennies can buy absolutely nothing. Get rid of it and set all prices in no less than 5 cent incriments

  • wierd...

  • a penny is now only worth .004 cents now.melt it for the copper

  • funny, there is no copper, it's only copper coated zinc.

  • its like they want you to belive obama is Lincoln

  • Good idea, maybe now that people will look more closely at their small change and find the art in them.

  • Down with pennies!

  • yeah....just what we need right now...more tax money going to something as worthless as the penny...don't ya think we have better things to spend our money on?

  • put 100 of them together and go the dollar store and buy some chinese crap! --plus sales tax

  • Mrs. Obama destroy that dress, not a good look for you. As for the penny whatever.

  • who uses a penny seriously

  • They wont ever go obsolete as long as we are using physical currency and better pray that that continues because if it's all cashless checkmate

  • I think I did about six or seven months ago :-)

  • The fact that the new Penny still has "In God We Trust" on it, gives me hope..

Not a whole bunch of hope, but enough.. We need a miracle ladies and gentlemen! We are in a lot of trouble in this Country.. Have of us love our Country, and 20% is trying their hardest to destroy it.. With the help of Great Britain, and China.

Wouldn't it be awesome if we all counted to 3, and all at once ran into Washington DC and placed everyone in handcuffs? Wouldn't it?

  • AMEN!!!

  • Sounds Nice, and Im glad for the perfection of the Arts but its Obama Money time... As a matter of fact after he successfully does his two terms.. yes I said it 2 Terms we need some Obama Bills... Lets make it happen!

  • :D yaaay arty

  • Too bad they aren't solid copper, and that nickels aren't pure nickel, and that dimes and quarters aren't pure silver anymore. It would be nice to actually have a currency that is based on precious metals again, instead of the bogus monopoly money we're currently forced to use.

  • the problem with that is that the metals become more valuable than the coin...

  • Can you spell I N F L A T I O N?

    End the Fed! That'll help...

  • @P3rf3ctStorm Inflation.

    I N F L A T I O N

    inflation.

  • Old coins never lose their value, even if the economy is bad; silver and gold seem to rise.

Paper money isn't backed up by gold anymore, so it is like nothing if the economy tanks.

With coins you could still barter for what you need; with paper you would just burn it to start a fire to keep warm! (grin)

  • You're right. Precious metals don't lose value. But when you say "gold seems to rise" when the "economy is bad" implies a misunderstanding of what actually happens. What's happening is that the currency itself is being inflated by the Federal Reserve Bank dumping a lot of dollars into circulation -- which means the dollar loses value. So gold/silver really doesn't go up in price - it simply retains its value while the dollar loses value. Interestingly, gold has retained its value for centures.

  • Thank you, I can see now why it seems to rise. I heard a long time ago that silver and gold coins would always keep their value, in case the economy crashes and worst-case scenario plays out, so I have been collecting coins for a very long time. I figured its like insurance; if not for me, as I am old, but for my kids and grandkids. I also keep a ton of books on making all sorts of useful items, just in case old Mother Earth decides to do the Jitterbug! (grin)

  • more useless discs of copper, just round up to nickels and stop with this crap, we're printing trillions of dollars and they wanna make more pennies.....

  • PENNIES!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow...shiny ;)
