Hi! Do you know if it is compatible and fit nicely with iPod Touch 4th gen? There are forums saying that iTouch 4g can't fit nicely into the Tom Tom iTouch dock. Thanks
Awesome video review, You definitely answered all my questions and were very clear in doing so. definitely the best review i have watched on youtube. I'm getting my kit for Ipod touch in the mail today and can't wait to play with it. Already have the app downloaded. Thanks again for the great video review of this car kit.
Hi, can you connect the iphone to bluetooth headphones while using the tomtom car kit? Reason i ask, is that i have a bluetooth headset on my motorcycle, and want to connect the iphone to this rather than the car kit speaker. can this be done?? Thanks.
do you need 2 donload a app (tomtom app) or is it in the pack or something? its a little bit expensive... better buy a tom tom, its much cheaper or not

this is a goog video but all gps APPS are fucking shitt because you have to buy it on app store like in $100 dollars and none fucking work whit out a stupid gps car kit and even if you get it FREE LIKE ME still you need to sped $100 more on a fucking gps carr kit is all a fucking RIP OFFFF
There is a separate car kit coming out for the iPod touch since it is slightly different in dimensions and does not have Bluetooth. This kit should be available shortly.
Hi there, good review mate. Just wonder if the car kit itself is wide enought to obscure the lens of the camera? If not, is it possible to position the cradle in such way that you can take a video of what's in front of windscreen (might came handy if involve in car collision for example). If "nothing happens" you just erase it and have ready for next time.. Just a thought..
Great review. Thanks. Your initial video said that it wouldn't be compatible with cases, do you think it could work with the case-mate barely there style of cases - looks like it might work out.
Theres about 25 different languages to choose from i.e. spanish, french etc... if your talking about funny voices i.e. simpsons voice, a-team etc, you can't do these. You can do these with the standalone TomTom units - but not on the iphone version. Hope they do bring it out though, would be cool.
When using the 3.5mm audio out from the dock, can you change the volume of the music from the iPod? Most devices like this only output audio at 100%. This always seems to cause massive distortion with my car stereo, until I turn it down to about 50% volume.
Would it work the same way when you plug it in to your speakers?
1. If you connect the audio cable to your speaker (i.e. the same as to the car stereo which you don't have the lead for) is handsfree phone audio diverted through this cable and speaker and is the car kit speaker muted?
2. Comments on the previous review suggested GPS was connected via bluetooth. Can you confirm this?
What functionality would be lost if I didn't connect to the car kit via bluetooth? Would I still be able to increase the GPS reception, play audio through the car kit's speaker or charge my iPhone? Thanks
i am wondering if anyone knows if this kit will eventually be compatible with any of tom tom's usb rds-tmc traffic receivers, or if they will ever use the internet capability of the iphone to live update traffic
dont think the USB rds-tmc (i had one yonks ago) will ever be compatible with them because theres no spare USB ports. Also, I think they may gradually just add that feature in the TomTom app. Remember, theres a 'car kit' app coming out for the TomTom this month also - interesting to see what that will actually be.
I've got one question, what is the handsfree phone capability like of the car kit? I'm guessing it just uses the built in iPhone Voice Control, or does the TomTom app have additional support for true handsfree, for example like a Parrot MKi9000
Not too sure what you exactly mean. When your using TomTom and a phonecall comes through, your voice goes through the iPhone itself (as per normal) although the receivers voice comes through the loud speaker on the TomTom car unit. Let me know if you require further clarification.
Ah, perhaps that is all TomTom means by "handsfree calling", ie; you hear receivers voice through the car kit speaker, rather than the iPhone's speaker. So it sounds as though there isn't anything special in regards to saying "accept" or "reject" when a call comes in, or saying "call Tommy' when you want to make a call.
The cradle is adjustable. You can slide it up or down. There's your stability problem solved

WIth the TomTom car kit. Will the phone fit in the cradle with a case on it or do you have to take the case of the phone each time you use it?

I usually do not reply to youtube videos. But I must admit this is really interesting as I was planning to buy the app and the kit.
Anyhow just one question my friend.
Can you tell me if it is possible to install additional languages in the tomtom iphone app? like custom language pack?

You only loose handsfree + music through the car kit/speaker on the back.
